Episode 165 Extras: Anders Burius' Exploded Apartment

First, I'm attaching some photos of Anders Burius' exploded apartment which he destroyed during his self-inflicted death after being caught stealing books from the National Library of Sweden.

I have to say, the pix of the destruction gave me kind of chills. Usually pix like those don't make me feel..scared I guess is the word. But those did. Thx Aly for sharing! It really adds to the creepiness of that episode!

THIS IS NAT AND I KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL DISAGREE BUT MY INTUITION IS TELLING ME THIS WAS A HIT JOB!! I am sensitive to mental health struggles, but nobody tries to unalive themselves this way unless they are trying to take out other people at the same time as some sort of political statement. The real question is, why was he a target? Must have been running in some sketch circles if he was selling ancient texts on the black market, right??

Enjoyed the historical narrative. That book cost a fortune to produce, books were rare then, and as mentioned, the pages are vellum. Whomever fronted the funds to produce it , whatever ecclesiastical entity, were interested in celebrating their faith with such a massive volume. It was meant to impress.
