Years ago my ex boyfriend (who was then married to someone else with a child) called me asking to “get coffee”. He cheated on me when we were together so I immediately knew what he was up to and blocked his number. I considered letting his wife know- but my best friend gave me some great advice. She basically just told me to not get involved in someone else’s marriage. Just avoid. It’s not worth it and she will figure it out eventually.

When I was single and on dating apps years ago, I saw a guy's profile pop up who I knew to be married. Long story short, I confirmed it was him and ended up informing his wife, she thanked me for letting her know, but decided to stay with him and work through it. They ended up having a child together about a year later. And not long after that, I was swiping on the apps, and there he was again, clearly actively looking for hook ups so... I just let it go after that, some people are just too haunted to help. I don't regret letting the wife know initially though, especially because it's not just a loyalty thing, it's the potential for health risks involved with cheating that is so so awful and she deserves to know for the sake of her own well-being.
