Bingo. This entire story is just, "These Kids Need Therapy: The Comic." Iirc, only two of these kids are confirmed to be getting therapy, and that nowhere near the amount that need it in this group.

Sandy is a kid. She isn't perfect, was never meant to be perfect. In her very, very controlled life she desperately seeked a real connection that was based on who she was and not what she was. You can't blame her for not knowing the right and wrong way to do things. She's coping in such a shitty way with a life out of her control. Yes, what she did was wrong. Let's not forget Mike pushed Lucy to suicide. He isn't perfect either. Lucy was physically abusive, she isn't perfect. Crazy how we demonize a character we rarely get any insight about.

"One mistake"... MONTHS of outright ignoring him for weeks at a time, all the while cheating on him. That's not just one mistake. That's a series of very intentional and repeated actions that hurt this person you're now calling selfish for placing boundaries for themself. The levels of selfishness and cruelty on top of the dismissal of accountability in that one statement... Wow.
