True! Seems like he's finally talking to Sandy as an actual fallible person, rather than some idealistic icon of perfection that he needs to appease to gain her favor. Even if they do evetually break it off, it's at least looking like they'll be able to keep their friendship intact.

If anything, he might try to keep up appearances if Sandy visits. But no, it's pretty clear that Mike will hit a breaking point soon with Sandy. Mike even knows this, and basically outright told this to Daisy. Mike doesn't see Sandy as the center of his world anymore, so I'm not so sure she'll be the center of his attention even if she's there in person.

Everything you said except that I hope it WILL benefit him. I'd rather see Sandy and Mike make it work than see Mike and Lucy unhappy for much longer. It's kind of exhausting, and it isn't doing Mike any favors.

It's really like, Mike was apologizing for what? What is it he plans to change about his behavior? Maybe it would have been different if Sandy and him actually broke up, but it seems like Mike is trying to people-please and instead saying "sorry you fell for it."

I know people aren't happy about what Sandy said, but it seems like an actually good take from her. She knows Mike didn't enjoy shopping very much and she didn't like gaming, so they can go to the mall together and still do their own thing while still knowing they were there together and having fun

Honestly I'm glad that Mike and Lucy didn't make up, because the next time Sandy visits it'll be all her again, and Lucy ignored AGAIN. Perhaps Lucy understood that and acted accordingly.

To be honest is good to know that he is realizing that he needs to let go. He knows he has made mistakes, he knows that he's not perfect, he knows that he did what was wrong, and he probably knows a lot more about himself than he realizes now more than ever before. Even though this is the path he has now decided to take, I'm hoping that this will not benefit him because he said what was needed to be said and now, they are apart.
