Pretty much what Meowtcha said. It wasn't that she was jealous, she just saw Lucy as abusive, (which she was) and said that she didn't like how Lucy was treating Mike. But yeah, Sandy unfortunately clarified what she meant when she said that to Mike far too late, after a LOT of emotion damage was already done to Lucy. Sandy never wanted Lucy out of Mike's life, she just wanted Mike to set boundaries with Lucy so he wouldn't be getting physically hurt on a regular basis. "It's not like I wanted you two to hate each other. I just think she should treat you right." -Chapter 71. Just Beautiful, Page 18

I don’t think that was the case? If she was indeed jealous, Sandy wouldn’t have encouraged Mike to talk to Lucy again and apologize. I mean; the short 15 minute meeting they had together in December was mainly about Lucy and Sandy chastising Mike for being a poor friend. She just didn’t want Lucy to abuse Her boyfriend (give him nosebleeds and such).

If she is confused she needs to not date. :/ it's doing so much damage to Mike and not letting him enjoy his time in high school. I feel so bad for Mike and now see that sandy kind of manipulated him to thinking of Lucy the way he did for so long and how he treated her. Granted it still wasn't ok but I have a feeling sandy was always jealous of lucy..
