I love how Lucy and her siblings are like "gross, affection" and Augustus is like, "affection???" :'D And of course Augustus is good at Monopoly he's the one who probably understands economics the most lol

I think 99% of you will have no idea of this, cause it seems like a pretty obscure book, but Augustus's character and looks and ESPECIALLY this situation is so Roan Sullivan from 'A Place to Call Home' by Deborah Smith (an amazingly written book, spanning the situation of a whole town, i do recommend). A teen adopted by a nice family from a very awful living and family situation. That was able to beat everyone in the house (even the most cunning and experienced person) at monopoly. He did achieve greatness in the end.
