It's time to try those moves from Tutorial 16 out!
I also want to provide you with some information on these two vary famous, incredibly beautiful compositions.
The exact tracks used in this Tutorial are covers and not originals. You will find that there are many many many covers of these classic songs available. It is a really fantastic thing to get to experience beautiful music interpreted in various ways.

Fun fact Yame and I a go way back to when we were both completely new to bellydance. We started talking on YouTube and she was my first "bellydance friend" back in 2008. Despite geographic challenges we have managed to meet up a couple of times over the years and remain in contact.

Love love music.I regonize many songs maybe because I did take some years ago improvisation 1&2 series from Aleya(Cairobellydance)and she did teach lot about Egyptin culture nad gestures and etc.Love your free style:)
I have never heard of that movie. That is so interesting I will have to check it out:) Thank you for sharing that. Yes longing is a big theme is a lot of Egyptian music but also in love songs in general. I think it is easy to romanticize what never was with what might have been, beauty and despair of hope ❤
Thank you for all the info! In the movie, and the musical, "The Band's Visit", (about Egyptian musicians getting lost in Israel while looking for the Arab Culture Center), the lead character, an Israeli woman named Dina, talks about Om Kalthoum (the singer of Inta Omri and Leylat Hob) and Omar Sharif and how the Egyptian movies starring them were so full of mystery and magic for her growing up and how she and her mother so looked forward to the Egyptian movies airing in Israel. It is funny how longing is a theme in not only her memory but the words and music she is recalling.
