Glad things between John and Yuki are stabilizing. They are both moving forward and rebuilding trust, which will be good for the next time Kiku or another sister shows up. So, bets on how much this incoming chemistry lesson blows poor Rin's mind? Or, honestly Yuki's as well. While I'm sure Rin doesn't know about the periodic table, does Yuki know about them? I can see both doing some very interesting things with that knowledge. Even if it's just the idea that atoms exist.

That's one of applications, he can demonstrate how Rin with her electric power can quickly rust metals, electroplate, or maybe even make steel stainless. Or maybe even... get aluminum from clay 🤔

Kieran Hosty

Lots of lovely steel electrodes (weapons) around the place to corrode with electrolysis, my favourite!

Personally I wouldn’t really care about the bandit captives. It’s almost a guarantee that at least some of them were coercing couch payments and the others absolutely knew about it. I would legitimately be extremely shocked if this was not the case.

DoomKitsune

I have always loved the thought of modern science mixed with magic. If you can control the strength of fire its not many steps to change a normal fireball into a fuel-air bomb.

Hm, events are developing... Those Unbound seem to be bound more than ordinary people, with some constraints and limiters on mind stunting growth. I wonder if John can talk with Yuki openly enough and ask her to jog his memory. I'm pretty sure he could remember something forgotten but pretty useful. As for improvised chemistry lesson, there's just not enough demonstration materials to do it right on the spot. Although if he done in his workshop simple burner like decomposing water by electricity then making it burn very hot blue flame then condense back to water - such a "transmutation circle" with only electricity Ki expenditure would puzzle most local cultivators.

Lilim Lilim

Hooh, boy. Teenager's first chemistry lesson. ...for a given value of, anyway. I wonder if Unbound grow more *psychologically* resistant to change and growth, just as they do physiologically. It would make the ego a little more sensical.

I can't wait to see how he brings modern knowledge into the magical. It's good to see John smiling and in his element.
