That made the decision between the Trap Barrier and Kingdom Go. Neither had broad applications. One let him be a little more creative with his ambushes, the other gave him certainty whether his day-trip would be into a real place or one of Gaia’s sandboxes. As he often did in cases like this, John applied the principle of ‘what could I never get without a Perk?’ and then picked the Kingdom Go Perk.
The various tongues urged John to pick the next Perk quickly.

Astrotium Master was also out. John was no crafter, so the only advantage of it was access to more Astrotium and the creation of alloys. Neither were bad but neither were worth losing 10% of EXP gain permanently. He still had 280 levels to go.
The Perfect Heartkiln was somewhat weaker than its alternatives in some ways and absolutely bonkers in its specific benefits. It gave him 1 million more mana to work with inside the Guild Hall and created a place where Astrotium could be forged by anyone (in theory) which would doubtlessly come in handy. It did both of those things for a cost that John could pay at that moment. It was the best choice based on that.
‘I still have 297 Room Slots… maybe I can put down a few new Buildings?’ John thought to himself. ‘At worst I can enable a few more luxuries for the Residential District.’
Then it was time for the last Silver Arcanist Perk.
Those were, plainly said, pretty boring. Boring, but powerful.
Silver Efficiency was what John would go with. He had too many ongoing costs not to know that this was the inevitable outcome. Master Arcanist was perhaps powerful, but John did not use his own spells often enough to dedicate himself to that. Companion Extension had interesting use cases, but he reckoned he could make them work with Possession instead.
‘Slightly annoyed I did not get another body,’ he confessed in his mind, then moved onto what else finishing the Class got him.
That Modification was… actually incredible. Dull, again, but incredible. Currently, he got 6 MP per Minute per point of Wisdom. Increasing that by 1 was a huge jump in overall mana, especially since that was the number generated BEFORE his percentual changes applied. The only issue with it was that he would still keep Lover Boy active while he was on his day to day to grind GP. He had to remember to switch to this before military campaigns.
Dull and effective was the theme of this Class, it seemed.
Now those choices were interesting.
John could not lie, he was salivating at Master of Magic. He had wished to be able to actually cast spells forever. As incredible as his Gamer abilities and his Skills/Spells were, it was all restricting. He yearned for a way to be an actual spellcaster.
Since he had wished for it, his abilities seemed to have put the option on his path. Even without taking it, John knew that this Free Casting would come with a load of restrictions. The spells would likely be limited to a narrow and simplistic scope and absolutely be less mana efficient than his Skills. It had to be that way. Even if the system itself would offer John something that invalidated everything else he had, Gaia would not let such an imbalance fly.
Channeler was probably the best option for him. Anything that promised to cut down on his mana usage was powerful.
Arcane Ace was the him that had decided to go all in on being a mage build. Since that was not the current him, it could be discarded without a thought.
“…I think I can treat myself this once, right?” John asked for permission, after everyone had read the options. Did he realistically need their permission? No. Was it proper to ask all the most important people in his life whether he could make himself a little bit weaker for something he wanted? Yes.
“’Course, tiger,” Rave confirmed with a broad smile.
John pressed the button. He was so happy to be with women like this.
John raised a hand and concentrated. He was used to some free casting because of the Creator Puppet. As such, the mental discipline to twist together the arcane energy in his magical circuitry came easy to him.
