That's what Maaike thought as well. I hope for Melody's sake that she was altered completely in the anime too and she'll change back at some point 😂

In the manga it’s implied that not just her arm but Melody’s whole body was altered. Originally she asks Kurapika: 'Want to see an old picture of me?' during this scene.
