Development update #30 (Also news about custom renders)
🕑 Added 2024-08-24 03:48:44 +0000 UTCSup nerds, this is a weird picture. Tryna balance spoilers with new stuff, so here's a random butt that shows up in the update. Not so hard to work out who this is.
Anyway, this is part of a two part post, with the other part being the community render. They're seperate because I don't know if patreon are gonna get rid of the community render like the did last time, but if they do I'd prefer it if this information remained.
Simply put, I'm suspending the custom render part of the Magistrate and above tiers for the time being. I'm finding it hard to deal with the workload between those, irl work, and making the game. This will of course mean some people will downgrade, or perhaps unsubscribe. I'm already aware of that, and I accept it. It's fair enough, since those people will no longer be getting what they paid for. A few important points about this though.
1) This isn't effective immediately. I'm gonna give it a month, so if you've just recently subscribed to one of the tiers Magistrate or above and you want a render, message me now, or before mid september. This will be effective at the start of October.
2) Those who have paid annually one way or another will continue to get renders. My priority is to make sure nobody is cheated.
3) If you're still waiting on a render that I've somehow forgotten about, please let me know asap.
4) This doesn't affect the gnome object thing for any support tiers that get those. That's still happening.
Apologies I gotta do this, but it feels necessary at the moment. The game must come first. I think I said in the previous post about it, but the same will be happening for the community render thing. I expect both suspensions to be temporary, but I can't confirm at the moment. Regarding the community renders though, for the sake of project longevity, I'll probably keep the topics of the renders a bit more tame going forward compared to the two previous winners.
Regarding the actual game, things have been busy. You'll notice I didn't give an estimate regarding the release in the last update, and this is why. It's really tough to estimate. All I can say is I'm working as hard as I can on it, and the suspension of the custom renders is something I've done with that in mind. I want this update finished because as much as I'm sure it sucks for you guys to go 6 months or whatever it is without an update, it also sucks for me to go 6 months without releasing something. No point in lying about it, right after release, there's a big bump in earnings and also exposure on the various sites the game is hosted, and I enjoy that. However, I refuse to rush the update to get to that part sooner. I'm sure I don't need to explain why.
It'll be done as soon as it's done, and with this recent suspension of custom stuff (With exceptions), that day should be sooner than it otherwise would be. (But yes, I'm also aware that this recent development makes the top 3 tiers largely pointless, but I won't be removing them, just updating the descriptions. I won't blame anyone for downgrading or unsubscribing from them.)
(Also apologies for my long absence on discord. That's now fixed. Gonna try to be there more often when I can from now on.)
Also I'm tired so probably won't be updating the tiers until tomorrow. If you subbed to Magistrate or above on August 24th, 2024, message me. We'll work something out.

New sub here. Do what you gotta do. As you say, the game takes priority over the side stuff. And of course, real life takes priority over that. Just glad to support the project. Take care!
