Development update #23
🕑 Added 2023-11-22 01:34:55 +0000 UTCHello again. I'm posting this one a little ahead of schedule because I said I wanted to follow up on exactly what the new GPU means for the project, so I'm gonna do that quick.
Tested 4k renders. Yep, those work fine, so from now on all renders in the game will be 4k and then downscaled to 1080. Believe me, there's a difference. This also means I can potentially give people access to 4k versions of renders if they want them, but I'll leave that out of the patreon stuff until I've got a bunch of them. This doesn't mean I'm gonna be going back to redo all the previous renders in 4k, I'm not. Just future renders.
Tested 4k animations. Same as above. Generally the game should just look a bit nicer now than it did before.
Tested spawning loads of characters. I haven't tested this to its absolute limit, and it'll vary depending on the map but what I can say is that I seem to be able to do at least 10, which is plenty. Scenes that require loads of characters are now possible. Nice.
Not too much else to report on the actual development of the game, but I did add a new system the other day. It's just a dumb little thing that I thought might be fun. Those of you who choose to play on Riley's slave route may have got a scene where you confiscate her panties. Panties, among other things which could be gained on various routes, are now considered to be trophies. So now there's a system where you can actually collect these trophies, and you get a kinda relevant render with each one. Totally pointless, but I had a spare hour so I kinda just did it. This isn't planned to be a slave route only thing, it just so happens that it is at the moment.
So this is all good news. Bad news is that having looked at what I have left to do, I do think the fact I was away for 2 weeks has made the "Before the end of November release date" unlikely. I'm providing this as a heads up since I'm still gonna be trying to do it, but I don't want to promise it. There's a lot to do, and getting it done in time will require absolutely no unforseen delays, and for me to be at peak efficiency basically the whole time. Fingers crossed. 100% before Christmas though either way.
