we actually have a few people building it who almost finished it with lights and all, and they reported no tolerances issues, plus i calculated offsets into the design, so they are there :) i know stuff might get a bit messed up when working with such large parts, but i just wanted to mention that i did think about offsets and tolerances and designed them in :D

I'm just finishing this project for my kids. I just have the impression that the tolerances on the energy disc are too small and I can't mount it properly. A few extra millimeters of extra space around the circumference would be useful. Anyway, a very cool project :)

FYI 144 LEDs per meter WS2812 strips are wider than the 60 or 30 LEDs per meter strips and will not fit as-is. I am curving the sides of the strip to make it fit.

Making this epic shield now! Just done the trans outside but not sure what settings to use on the hollow inisde? Anyone know? Supports? 0% infill?

not sure i follow this part , the lid on the mid compartment is removeable, but drop me a message if you have some concerns, might be easier to show on a photo :)

Sorry I mean the wire that feeds down the inside of the shield toward the removable battery pack compartment not the led strip around the shield

No you put the led strip outside the shield before attaching thr "energy disk" parts

The LED strip doesn’t have to be inserted through the middle before glueing the parts together does it? I already assembled my shield and realized I can’t seem to find any led strips with a wire that will feed through the wire hole in the center of the shield

I’m like four plates away from finishing the print haven’t found any pins to connect them with any suggestions?

tehre is not. i have several reason for it- hopefully it will make sense to others as it did to me :D - so there are tons of options to go through, like every part solid vs hollow part, and shield symbol optins, so making 3mf of all options will make the file/document size insanelly huge wich will in the end crush many slicers upon opening as we can only add 1 part per print bed, due to its size so there would be a huge ammout of print beds in the 3mf. ( unless i add 1 part per 1 bed, per 1 3mf, but thats identical to what the stl release now is, so no point in that), plus the parts print all the same, so once you position one part, you can just copy same settings and orientation for all the others. In my opinion the 3mf file would be too messy here, too big to work with, or an identical copy of the stl folders - plus there are also the fully combined version that can not fit in the 3mf, so it felt like 3mf would be a pain and uncomplete, making it all just weird and messy , less practical then the stl folders, at least in my opinion :D

thank you so much :) not sure who the othes are, but from my understanding, most other patreons are just businesses who that hire modelers to make models tht they sell to you so the design and creative aspect is usually missing. at least here i design everything myself so i do try to make them stand out from the rest, if possible :D plus i absolutelly love making it :D

This is the 3rd patreon I'm subscribed to that released files for this shield, but it is the ONLY one that lights up or offers any customization. Once again you went above and beyond other creators, and knocked it out of the park.
