MSE 6 REPAIR DROID ready :)
🕑 Added 2025-02-12 18:24:41 +0000 UTCThe droid update is finally complete and you can download it ! I’ll take a moment to go through all the updates and what's included:
Project Re-release – The project now includes two versions:
Android-controlled version: Uses an ESP32 with custom code that you can upload and that allows you to drive the droid via your android phone.
RC version: Uses standard RC components—just install them, and you're good to go! No coding required.
Performance Differences – The RC version is slightly faster, can carry more weight, and allows simultaneous driving and steering.
Power Source – The RC version uses different batteries compared to the Arduino-controlled version.
Build Instructions – Each folder contains a step-by-step guide based on the version you choose to build (the RC version is much easier). Links to purchase the required parts are also included.
Build Video – There's a build video for the Android version, but you can also use it for the RC version—just ignore the minor differences.
And that’s about it! I went with the RC approach because I think it’ll be a great fit for many of my future builds :)

i'm so annoyed they keep changing the links all the time, the full name is " ESC Brush Electronic Motor Speed Controller 30A 4-8V Mini Brushed " if you need to look it up on other pages, but here is the new aliexpress link as well https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005017679548.html . keep in mind if you are in US, you have to use the US version of aliexpress

What speed controller does this use for the RC version? The link in the documentation isn't valid any longer.

Since your awesome at electronics i had a thought.... Captain America's "Redwing" would be freaking awesome!!!
Tim Quick
That’s all right we’ll just have to insert some negative spaces and hollow it out ourselves. Shouldn’t be too hard.
Marko Makaj
thank you , but i'm afraid there will be no updates after this one :( at least none planned for now :D
Tim Quick
This is amazing! If this ever gets updated again would it be possible to get a version without the spots for the battery box & servo? just an empty void that my students can fit the lego Technics Motor Kit into?
Ben Egloff
You are the man!!!! Thanks Marko!

it should be a slightsly smaller version , i took references from games, but from my understanding the size varie. if you happen to have a source on the sizing we can compare the scale
Jeth Savan
I am super stoked for this. Is it scaled to screen accurate?
Aaron White
Excellent! Gonna let it ride!
Marko Makaj
i printed it without support , its a bit stringy, but not bad actually, and its on the inside so its not visible , but i can confimr it is not needed :)
Aaron White
Does the top shell need supports? Was getting ready to throw air through it it didn’t have any, just wondering before I give it a go.
Marko Makaj
yup, my mistake, sorry, just added it , hit refresh and download the 04 parts list and hardware :)
Marko Makaj
sorry, i dont know whats wrong with me today :D haha, fixed that as well :D
Tim Good
I see the motor controller and the remote control you used now but still no reference to the DC motor you used.
Tim Good
One more quick question...I don't see the motor model listed in the parts list. I recognize it as a 5840-555 type motor but I just want to be sure that's the one you used and what RPM you got for it.
Jason Paquet-Garceau
Yeah✨
T.J. Schmitz
Huge improvement, awesome!
Marko Makaj
all fixed, my mistake, uploaded the wrong one, but its all good now :D
Aaron Judt
I don’t see any parts list for the RC version. The parts list in that folder still shows breadboards and no references to the rc receiver/controller or dc motor you used. Thanks!🙏
Tim Good
My bad! I spotted that right after I posted. Thank you!
Paul Houston
No frikkin way!
