Yeah we also had a huge rope climb in my elementary school gym. I was at that school in the early 2000s though

Boy was that embarrassing! Yes, Grace deduced my question correctly; I've probably typed 'Retronauts' more frequently than 'Retroware' over the last half-decade by a factor of several hundred. Thanks for trying to salvage that mishap into something of an answer...

Derek you are not alone in the rope climb! Granted I was in high school at the time, so our bodies were a lot more developed but everyone had go climb the rope hanging from the ceiling, which was at least 2 stores high

Video gambling is explicitly that there's a machine with a video monitor. CRT, LCD, whichever. At this point a lot of the flash and buildup of anticipation have been taken out, and video machines can work a lot faster than mechanical ones. Which is why you can find those incredibly depressing videos of rows of old people tapping on buttons.
