iOS Emulation Finally Cracked Thanks to Super Monkey Ball | DELISTED | SSFF
🕑 Added 2023-03-06 04:48:55 +0000 UTCHi everyone!!
Finally, a new video! Apologies for the wait, but I think we ended up with something very cool and outside of the normal scope of the kind of video we usually make.
So, about a month ago, friend-of-the-show Cass from Bad Game Hall of Fame, messaged me to let me know that a big leap forward in emulation had been made. I ran to twitter, and low and behold: Touch HLE! I decide to buckle down and watch the VOD of Hikari’s livestream (she’s on European time so I missed it), and what d’ya know, there is a full-on Dev In Chat situation. So, I reached out to both Bob and Hikari and they graciously agreed to be interviewed by me. And the stories they told me blew my mind- not to spoil the video, but I was struck by how SMB iOS has through circumstance been at the forefront of two MAJOR iOS milestones. I was so pumped to get it done!! ...And then I got sick for about a week and a half. We were REALLY shooting for a February release, but the result is that Derek and I did a tag team edit and are dragging it over the finish line today for an advertiser deadline. Apologies on the late posting! The version with ads needs to go live tomorrow, so I unfortunately can only give you guys a few hours of exclusivity until then.
We have one more video planned for this month, though it’ll be coming at the end of March. Other than that, hope you guys enjoy the video and as always, let me know if you spot any mistakes! Thanks so much for the support guys.
Thanks,
Grace

This video is amazing. This level of research and storytelling is something I would expect of major news publications.

Was very surprised to see my hometown mentioned in one of your videos. A really good friend of mine worked at Other Ocean (along with a few other people I know). I don't believe he was there when Monkey Ball was developed though

I know a few people are working on it, but it’s apparently pretty complicated because the Zeebo is incredibly dumb!

I really hope that this opens the door to emulating more mobile devices like older iOS configurations. Could you imagine if we got a Zeebo emulator at some point?

No worries on the short exclusivity, glad Derek is back to full strength. Can't wait to dive into this one!
