New video time!! As always, let us know if you notice any mistakes. I caught one at 1:01, where it SHOULD say that Xbox Doom 3 came out April 3, 2005. That one will be fixed for YouTube tomorrow, but I wanted to go ahead and give you guys more time for viewing before then.
Derek started this video with the goal of making it quick and short... so of course it's not either of those things! But I really enjoyed this video, especially learning all of the wacky things the Midway team did to get Doom onto the PlayStation. And we got to have an impromptu therapy sesh for why Derek feels so much resentment towards PlayStation Final Doom. All in all, a great doom time!
I am still wrapping up Game Room, but we are hoping to send that one out to Sober Dwarf asap for editing! Excited for you guys to see it and experience the crumbling of Microsoft Game Room in real time.

Great video as always! I'll admit I've always pushed off PSX Doom as just another port but I put some time in after watching this - yeah that soundtrack really helps! Definitely a completely different experience from the normal PC Doom I'm familiar with. Really gets your heart racing with panic. Kinda reminds me of the early atmospheric levels of Unreal or maybe Pathways Into Darkness and Marathon.

Since you asked: Final Doom has come to console in full before, as part of the Doom Classic Complete pack on PSN using the same engine as the BFG Edition port.

Amazing video!! I love seeing Derek gushing over Doom and especially the PSX port, which is incidentally my favorite one too. 🥰 Which by the way, you mentioned some total conversions for PC but there’s now a new reverse-engineered port for PC called PsyDoom! It’s super faithful, it needs a PSX DOOM backup and there’s a new Vulkan renderer with a higher FPS and resolution output. But you can turn that off and play like old school. I’ve been having a blast with it!
