You might not be downloading the right file. I just downloaded it again and it's an OIV file. Make sure you are opening the SP folder. If for some reason that is not working it might be WinRar that is the issue. If that is the case, download a free version of 7-zip from a Google search. Try that way.

Hi, when i download the mod I don't get an oiv file. Instead i only get a npolchar folder with a dlc.rpf inside. Is the mod just cooked or am i the issue lol

Well it could be one of two things. Providing that the DLClist was upadted with the OIV and that you added the correct audio hash for the correct vehicle in the vehicle meta file. I am not too familiar with Drive V to be honest. Have you tried to remove it from the game and test each vehicle to confirm if the DLC audio is working? There might be another mod that is causing the issue as well. Other than that, if things were installed correctly, it would have to be a conflict going on here.

Hey, I for some reason am not able to get the engine sounds working at all. They installed without issue with the oiv. The DLC XML was all good and all the files were where they needed to be. I changed my police2, sheriff, and police4, to the regular and supercharged civ handles, using the meta XML. but for some reason I get no updated audio. I would like to point out I have Drive V installed incase that is causing issues, and on a side note, some of my FPIU and charger models after installing drive v are raised a bit and look a little odd. Thanks in advance for any support.

You would go into the Addon car pack Grand Theft Auto V > update > x64 > dlcpacks Find the DLC pack that you want to install it in. Go into the dlc.rpf of your addon. Then go to the data folder. There you will find that particular Addon meta files. Just look at the vehicle.meta file and then add the engine in there. I recently uploaded a slightly reduced engine sound that is attached below the video if you ever want to take a look at that.

awesome everything sounds great... is there anyway to change the volume of each cars engine or no ? its pretty loud compared to my sirens. unless you have a siren pack that is louder ?

You can install this with any car of your choice as long as you change it in the vehicle meta. If you do that, then any vehicle with that name will have the engine sound.

No worries and tbh I don’t know, I tried editing the code, retyping it and other things but I ended up clicking “continue anyway” and it allowed me to play without any complications, the error is still there but doesn’t affect gameplay but thanks.

One thing you can do with Notepad++ is to install plugins. **Make sure the game is closed. Open Notepad++ as an application, no need to open a file, just select Notepad++ with the windows button search feature. Top of your tool bar look for Plugins. Once there - Under Available Scroll down to the bottom and look for XML Tools or possible XML Syntax - something like that. Check the check box and click on INSTALL to the upper right of the Plugin Admin area. Go back to your vehicle.meta file and extract it to desktop if you haven't already done so. Right click on the vehicle.meta file and click on Open With Notepad++ The meta file that is giving you that error message - Go to Plugins at the top of NotePad++ and > go to XML Tools > find your Check XML Syntax Now It should direct you to the part of the meta that is coded incorrectly.

Hey blue everytime i try to edit the audio hashtag on any vehicle, it tells me i have an error on line 37025 collum 2 when im nowhere near that area and it's for any edit i make to any vehicle hash, do you know why? It also says “only one top level element is allowed in an XML document, did everything you did in the video, copy and left control v over highlighted area but still got the message. Should I click “ignore error and save the file” or do you know why that happens?

I will have to look at Ambient AI Callouts. Does it still work? Can you give examples of other streets that need to be updated? I currently have over 680 streets which is the most any modder has ever put into the game. If users can tell me which streets are not there, I will be happy to add them. But if they game is not calling on the street to begin with, it's hard to test :)

Well when you say, it's not working for me "either" you are implying that others have the same problem, but you are the only user that has this issue. The user below you made a mistake on their end. They modified the audio hash on the wrong car. So explain what is not working about it? Might kinda help to know more info. Is it an addon vehicle? Is it a replace model? If it is a replace model, which vehicle are you putting the audiohash on?

Yes I am able to spawn the cars. I am just getting the regular car engine noise. It does work however on my fib and police 4 car. Just not my other slots. I’m not sure if maybe it’s the specific car I have maybe?

I can try to do the best I can. When you say it is not working for you, are you able to spawn the car that you added the audio hash to? If you are able to spawn the vehicle that you added the audio hash to, what type of engine sound are you hearing exactly? Did you add the audio hash in the proper vehicle.meta file if you have a DLC addon perhaps? If the vehicle that you are adding the engine sound to, if it is an addon, the DLC pack will have it's own vehicle.meta file.

Addon Vehicles usually have their own vehicle.meta file in the data folder of the addon pack. If the Addon Vehicle is ELS, you would put the ELS.xml file into the same folder as the rest of the other ELS xmls - Grand Theft Auto V > ELS > pack_default Note: this video is just in reference to the Engine Sounds, no need to alter the ELS xmls

No, I didn't make this. It is more of a clarifying tutorial as there are a ton of misleading videos out there online about the engine and the sirens in GTA 5. Basically it will make it more clear for those that want to install this engine or possibly another one out there and how to do the audio hash properly.
