Dude youβre like the Mr. Miyagi of LSPDFR modding. If you do make a video I will definitely watch it probably like six times like all the rest of your tutorials.

Sure you can accomplish that. You can add pretty much any vehicle into a DLC pack if you like. Just be aware that the vehicle meta needs to match the car model name as well and the handling ID needs to be recognized by the game too. You can change the handling ID to a known handling ID to the typical vehicles in game as sometimes that is easier (For example: if you put a charger into a DLC pack and named it charger1, then you can make sure the model name is charger1 and the handling ID is something like poilce2) You can possibly copy the code from the original charger download meta and paste the code into the vehicle.meta file within DLC pack. OR You can be a bit tricky, and just rename your vehicle of choice to a DLC vehicle name and replace the vehicle that was found in XYZ DLC pack. I do that quit a bit actually, and that part is easier to do it that way. You would just try and match the vehicle similar to the DLC vehicle as best as you can to somewhat match the DLC vehicle. Just a sneaky way of adding your own replace car and rename it to a DLC car :) 2nd option is easier than you think I might have to do a video on how this is done as it's hard to type out in the comment section

Iβm late to the party on this one but I am very interested how you get the game to call a vehicle. Some of the addon packs just say to drop it in the dlcpacks and then edit the dlclist so if the vehicle is named say charger1 can I go into regions on Ultimate Backup and add that to an area or are you limited to just the 8 or 9 dedicated slots? Or if I want two types of cars for LSPD, one for Vespucci Beach, one for Vinewood, a Blaine County and then a Highway Patrol in there perspective regions, is that even doable?

Are you pulling the files to desktop first? Take the folder out of the zip or rar files and place on desktop first. Turn edit mode on and then drag into OpenIV and see if that helps. You can also perhaps try starting OpenIV up in administrator mode.

Yes, pretty much any vehicle pack you can rename to fit in those slots described. The next video will go into Handling IDs as it will help you determine how to keep the vehicles from flipping over on you after you rename them.
Benzo Effect
Absolutely

Will the renaming work for the sheriff pack and highway patrol pack as well?

Hey Benzo, thanks for getting back to me. I was getting frustrated with it so I started again from scratch. Now when I go to push the EUP menu or anything else over I am getting that π« blocked signal, not allowing me to move it over. I did what you suggested with uninstalling the ASI Manager and making sure the edit mode is on, but still not getting anywhere... Lucky I have no hair to pull out. lol.

Great stuff. While I was pretty comfortable on this, itβs a good reminder. One video that would be helpful to some of us veterans in modding would be how to get your backup to respond with certain EUP textures. That could be a part II of a regions video with part I being vehicle response.

Do the following steps, even if you think you have done them. 1. Make sure your ASI managers are installed: OpenIV > Tools Menu at top > ASI Manager > check that they are installed, if they are, uninstall them, and reinstall them 2. Double check your pathway for install of vehicles: Grand Theft Auto V\mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday27ng\dlc.rpf\x64\levels\gta5\vehicles.rpf\ make sure you are using a later patchday. Make sure you are not going to patchday23ng as there are known issues. Patchday24ng and later usually work fine. For more info on later patchday, watch the Patreon exclusive #1 video towards the middle of the video where it shows a good patchday for you. 3. When installing vehicles always check that they are transferring over when dragging into OpenIV: Best to pull the folder of the vehicle download onto desktop first and drag and drop into OpenIV with edit mode on of course. You should be able to always see the vehicle inside the model viewer. For more info on that, see Patreon exclusive video #1 again. 4. When you say "Coroner Vehicles" - is the model called "Coroner" ? Remember the game does not see Coroner as being a natural car spawn. That is considered a DLC, so if you installed a DLC, you need to let me know below. 5. The Taxi car should be spawning easy as it is a known vehicle recognized by GTA. Did you see my Taxi install for ELS car Install 2021 on YouTube? See if that helps.

No problem John

Hey Benzo, I am going through your fresh install and the taxi and coroner vehicles will not transfer over to Open 4 but all of the other vehicles are. Any reason this may be and how to fix it. Thanks.
John Horvatic
Thanks Benzo.

Thank you.

I hope so, so far this game has equal defense lol.

Thank you Benzo. I would also like to know how to change in region.
