Probably can't update if you haven't hooked it on ethernet (wired network) or for wifi. mine i did as I have some apps for streaming chanels and for that needed the internet. That said started doing more of it on an amazon fire stick apps so I may not need internet for that tv these days.

Am I missing something? Why do people's TVs have internet access? My cheap 3yo flat-screen TV has never updated. I also just bought a new cheap blu-ray last month. Plays everything fine and has never updated... Am I just NOT AWARE that they are updating secretly... like while I'm asleep or something?

Speaking of Witch trainer? Do you ever think of returning to that one? Myself I would love for a gold edition or a sequel even? The standalone mod/fan-project that is circulating is fun, but it is not AKABUR. I think out of the game systems you created, so far I see the most potential with WT, due to its nature of very high replayability.

I’m sure it’s gonna be perfect. And from what I’ve seen in the past, the original already looks amazing so if it looks crappy in comparison, I’m afraid to even think about the WT one :V Thanks for the effort my man, I’m glad it was worth it!

Yeah, the more complex is the system the easier it brakes. That is actually why I still use Ren'Py: it's a very rudimentary engine but because of that it is always very easy to identify any bugs :)

The Witch Trainer skin took more effort then I thought it would but I think you will appreciate the final result. It will be giving as a reward for unlocking one WT-themed achievement in the game. The only problem it looks so good it makes the default one look a bit crappy in comparison XD

RRR did just fine. Also I don't think that movie was to expansive to make. It's more about the direction than anything else. Modern movies just don't have any sort of energy anymore, they are simply not fun, just like the games. They feel very corporate and clean. -_-

I thought about it, but it would be a rather time consuming addition and I don't know when Dahr will just drop a bunch of finished drawings on me (like he often does). I don't want to be stuck in a middle of another big addition to the game when Lyk and Dahr finish their parts. I decided to go with something a bit smaller. If all goes well I'll talk about it next Monday.

I think when eventually they close down movie theatres for good, they will say it was done because people just watched the movies at home and didn't want to pay the ticked price, when in reality the movie just became shit.

System updates how they plague us. I have an older samsung TV that does auto updates every second day it seems. That wouldn't bother me so much except that it jumps the notification that it has done the update in the middle of whatever I'm watching. I'm tempted to turn the whole updating off now since I can't see a way to silence the popup. I have an old Blu-ray / Digital TV recorder that once for 2 months wouldn't turn off properly, I had to pull the power plug half the time. Turned out it was a Samsung firmware update that was buggy, it took them that long to release a fix. Samsung as a company seem to be really rubish at firmware updates. I have a PS3 game console that one reason I originally purchased it was you had the option you could run a linux version on it (was even a selling point) then sony decided to firmware update it so you couldn't do that any more, so nice of them. One thing I have updates turned off is for a Pioneer blu-ray player, as I installed a specific firmware that allows me to change region for overseas discs. no way I want that updating and taking away that little fix. And lets not talk about Microsoft Windows....

For the record I don't think the failure of one Indian action movie is representative of how successful that style of film can be. Not only is there still a market for it, but that market is starved since the base is being passed over in favor of a 'modern audience' that doesn't actually exist.

I agree with the nostalgia... but the reason we don't see movies like Bade Miyan Chote Miyan anymore is they don't make money anymore. From the wiki page: Budget 350 crore, Box office est. 102.16 crore In reviews, only 2 of 12 critics' reviews were positive, with an average rating of 3.3/10 across all review platforms. Sad but true.

Modern software is almost always broken.. 😕 We don't expect software to work anymore. Modern software relies on a ridiculous layer of libraries and APIs, taking further and further from hardware. If one of those millions lines of code between your app and the hardware doesn't work properly - your app won't work too. I once tried to log every bug/issue I encounter - I had couple dozens just in a week. Just yesterday spent hours trying to stop Windows adding en-US keyboard layout on every reboot to my ru-RU and en-CA. Had to edit register, do command line - nothing worked.

Updating the software is almost always bad, why fix something that is not broken? So I would say taking a pride in it is completely normal. Glad you’ve modded your switch,my friend has been complaining about that issue so I’ll recommend him to do that too! Also, the Witch Trainer home skin is absolutely amazing, I would love for it to be unlockable or maybe up for purchase, but the idea already got me and I know I’ll be using it.
