340 - The Audio Stuff.
🕑 Added 2024-08-05 11:02:31 +0000 UTCHELLO there, the most patient of all the patient bros. This will be another short post because I am tired. I did consider drinking a cup of coffee before starting to write this, but decided against it. I try to keep my coffee consumption to 2-3 cups a day, and I want to spend that energy boost coffee gives me on my work. Which means you are stuck with the low-energy whiny version of me for the duration of this post.
RECENTLY I have purchased that blue checkmark on Twitter. I wanted to give their monetization program a try. It doesn't look like they are in a rush to review my application though (it's been a week). Well whatever, I'll give them another couple of weeks and if there is not change I'll just cancel my subscription. What a waste of money -_-
STELLA GLOW. Started my second playthrough. Having 9 freetime points instead of 3 feels really good. On my first playthrough I kind of ignored Sakuya and Hilda. Can't wait to cozy up to them both during this playthrough. The earth witch still does not interest me all that much, but that could change after I play through her personal events some more. Luckily with 9 freetime points per day I will be able to max out my affinity with every single character in the game. Since I also ignored most of the male characters, it is time for some bromance. (This is an old game, so I don't have to worry about any propaganda).
THE WORK. For some reason I thought adding the music and sound effects wouldn't take too much time. Boy was I wrong... Well whatever, there is nothing I can do about it at this point. I'll just need to keep working until I am done. -_-

Yeah, I can say from fist hand experience that as it is right now, it does not work the way it should. Not for me anyways. I will be canceling my subscription this week. I am glad I did it though, because I was thinking about it for several months now and now I tried it and I know that it is not working. I have similar thoughts about creating a game I could put on steam one day. Hopefully it will work out better :)

I can see that point, when is not disclose the type of content it contain it might feel a bit scummy. I can totally see it with things like porn in general or specific kinks (like gore and whatnot), so I can understand the unsavory moment when a bro-moment becomes a bro-wedding XD

I've found players don't like anything unexpected: trap, gay, trans, cuck, femdom, bondage, violence, young... Especially, if they built a connection with the characters before getting tricked. It's far better accepted to just include REALISTIC amounts in games (Like 1%) and, as you said, make it a choice, not mandatory story or interactions.

I mean, people called celeste trans propaganda because there's one optional ending image where you can see the main character owns a trans flag. Nothing in the story is really about transgender related stuff. The only way to avoid something being called gay/trans propaganda is by pretending gay/trans people don't exist. If you acknowledge their existence at all there will be people on the internet saying you are making propaganda.

But, giving options to romance anyone is just freedom, innit? I though gay propaganda was when it was specially designed to manipulate, like telling you a character you unknowingly expend 200 hours romancing to just reveal last minute he was just a dude in a costume, not even a trans, just a dude in a cute dress. I dunno if I put a VN with girls and boys as an option as agenda, that's just a choose to own adventure, romance style xD or dev that don't want to make a Pokemon, and do a Maid Version and a Butler Version (wonder if you trade your weak maid with a butler game, it came back as a strong, four arm, maid. It would be HILARIOUS)

Hmm I contemplated twitter subscription but for what it gives seems a little too pricey for me, especially if they sit on the blue tick approval process and charge you all the same. I heard sometime back that there were thoughts Elon might have plans to turn it into a payment platform (in which case paying for it may make more sense), but yet to see anything like that happen yet, might be a very long term goal, or he hit hickups with the money men. I'd certainly like an alternative to paypal, sometimes they seem a little too restrictive on legal content they don't approve of.
