323 - The End Is Nigh.
🕑 Added 2024-04-08 14:08:33 +0000 UTCHello there, dear bros. Welcome to another Monday Post. So anyway, Crisisbeat contacted me few days ago. Apparently his Patreon account got nuked. He can't even login anymore. I don't know all the details, but this seems very familiar. Back in my day corporations would at least suspend your account if there was an infraction. These days you can wake up one day and find out that your source of income got canceled, your payment processor has "indefinitely froze all your money", your bank put your account on hold until further notice, your email provider wants to know your phone number, your streaming service decided you are not worthy of their services anymore and all those games you bought online are not accessible, because you were only renting them apparently. Welcome to the future you sniveling worm. Own nothing and be happy.
Am I next? (I mean will Patreon delete my account next?) I don't think so. After all I didn't release any new content for the almost three (fucking) years now. That alone should keep my account here safe. But you never know of course. And after QT is released we all should expect the unexpected I think. But just in case, don't forget that I have a mirror account at subscribestar.adult/akabur
To other news. I picked up an Aladdin coloring book at the local bookstore for reference. And one of the illustrations just made me laugh so hard. I mean just look at it. Jasmine looks a bandit gang leader. What a girl-boss! Modern Disney is such a joke. At this point my version of Jasmine is literally closer to the canon than all this modern nonsense.
Web of Shadows. Since I continue to remain in the Spidey mood, I decided to give Web Of Shadows a try. (I found a nice version of it on Ocean Of Games). I am about 5 hours into the game and here is my review: you know that feeling when you find some unexpected nice detail in a game and think to yourself: "Oh wow! That's so cool". Remember that feeling? Well, now imagine a feeling completely opposite of that. Yeah, that's Web Of Shadows for you. Keep in mind this is my first impression, but so far I am not impressed. What annoys me the most is how fake and dead the city feels. -_-
But Black Cat in this game is absolutely gorgeous though, so I will continue to play no matter what. They sure knew how to create fictional women in the west back in the day. (Even though it bugs me a little that she is taller than Spiderman. It's a bit wired.)
The work. Las week was spent on working on art assets. I have quite a few placeholder drawings in the game so that is what I am working on right now. For more details make sure to check on this week's EXTRA!! post. ^_ ^ Later bros, and thank you for your support.

just reading this at the moment with the current legal battle between Australia's e-saftey comissioner (nothing to do with safety) and X over free speech. Of course now all the media pushes the government line so they can look again at censorship laws and I'm saddened and disapointed. Sadly Australia where I'm from is often used as a testing ground for both companies and US government ideas. our e-safety comissioner is American and you can be sure the recent going on is a test case for future censorship moves in both countries.

The Disney movie, to me, is just a really weird Sim Room update.

Ngl, I am not even "that" old but the way world is turning makes my heart ache. When I was a kid I always imagined what amazing things we could do with the technology and it seems humanity decided to literally do the worst things imaginable. Remember when Internet was a place for passionate people and creativity? Without the current constant restrictions that are everywhere to repress? Good times... But also, I don't really understand what do you mean by your Jasmine being "closer" to canon. I thought she is canon and all of your games are fully licensed and totally in-universe! I don't want to live in a world where it's not true. Thanks for the update, and as always. Have a great week Aka!
