372 - Forging Ahead.

Today is Monday and that means I have another opportunity to reflect on the fleeting nature of time, the greatness of the videogames of the PS1 - PS3 era and (of course) promise you yet again that my next game will be absolutely amazing with tons of content and that it is definitely coming soon*. 
THE WORK. Certain amount of my working hours last week has been spent on getting the new character dolls ready to be imported into the game files. That usually means separating heads, costumes, hairstyles and emotions into separate layers and after that resizing everything properly.
MORE OF THE WORK. After that I spent a significant amount of hours creating many different textboxes and trying to figure out which one I should go with, what font to use, what color, and so on. This sort of decision making is often quite tersome, because there are many options and it's not always easy to decide which one is the best. Thankfully this only needs to be done once, in the very beginning of the project.
AND MORE OF THE WORK. And after that I was finally able to get to the writing. I mean the actual writing, not the random disconnected scenes and ideas that I worked on until now, but actual text that that later will go into the game proper.
THE GALLERY (The Shop). Also I added another PSD file to the shop. It's a CG from STAR CHANNEL 34 where Jasmine does some light Ashelin training. It also includes JPEG files, but if you know how to open PSD files you will get access to quite a few layers. ^_^
THAT IS ALL. Time to get back to work. During this week I will be doing a lot of writing, which could get quite frustrating at times, so wish me luck. And I will see you all next Monday. Thank you for your support, bros. Laterz.

Anyway, I haven't seen the pic yet, but I am looking forward to checking it out. And thank you for the purchase. To be honest my store there is a ghost town, but maybe I should add more stickers there just in case :)

I'm glad you appreciated the latest addition to the shop. If all goes well I plan to continue to add files from my personal archive there. As for the pedant, yeah, she used to have a tattoo when I was younger and thought tattoos were cool, but now I think we will go with something a bit more subtle :)

Yeah, when I was working on Witch Trainer a lot of my decisions were made based on passion instead of common sense. I really wanted to have a fight scene in the game, I was obsessed with the idea. It took close to a month to put it together with all the animations and the sounds. And the way I wrote the code it made it in possible to use it again in the game without wasting more time on it. Looking back it was an absolute waste of time, but it was a great learning experience, and it was fun to work on. :)

Sounds like so far the job's a good'un, keep the course! I was actually talking to someone the other day that lamented your Snape V Genie little combat game wasn't a longer feature way back in witch trainer lol. Ah Memories!

Indeed, because those graphics take time to render, also it take so much time that the themes the game touched are past their prime, and then they flop. Happy to hear Smersh is ok, I try to write him as often as I write you

Thanks for the awesome job, it's a shame modern games are too focused on looking super real, which only increase costs and many times isn't worth it
