Interspecies Potion Solution Part 2 Chapter 4
🕑 Added 2025-05-30 21:00:03 +0000 UTCChapter 4: “Kitchen Cuddles and Chaos”
After the long trek back home, the group finally split up, scattering to their respective corners of the house like leaves caught in a breeze. Kirika hauled the shopping bags into her room and let them slump onto the floor with a dull thud.
Finally. Some breathing room.
She closed the door behind her, leaned against it for a moment, and just breathed. The day had been good, sure. Fun, even. But keeping up with the whirlwind energy of her housemates (and one extremely enthusiastic sphinx girl) was draining in ways even a two-hour morning jog couldn't match.
Her gaze drifted toward the mirror on her wall. It was the full-length one Cerea had insisted she needed now that her "dimensions" had changed. Kirika stepped closer, the fabric of her new sundress fluttering lightly around her sides.
She took herself in slowly.
The strong, lean equine body. The firm waist. The soft, flattering curve of her human half.
And up top… well.
“...Jeez,” she muttered, crossing her arms instinctively under her chest, which honestly didn’t help at all.
The dress framed her figure a little too perfectly. Pretty boobs. A good figure. A cute face staring back at her with wide, slightly overwhelmed eyes.
Kirika rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly.
“I’m… I’m hot. I mean—not, like, hot-hot but—uh… yeah. Hot.”
There was a beat of silence as she processed that. Then she groaned and buried her face in her hands.
“What the hell am I supposed to do with that information?!” she hissed to herself.
It was one thing to accept her new body.
It was another thing entirely to look at it and think, Yeah, I’d date me.
Kirika peeked between her fingers at the mirror, as if she might catch herself doing something dumb if she wasn’t careful.
Nope. Still just her. Still awkward.
Still weirdly... pretty.
She let her hands drop with a sigh. "Great. Add 'mild identity crisis' to today's checklist."
Her stomach chose that moment to growl loudly, reminding her of another far simpler problem.
She glanced at the clock. Evening was creeping in, the last rays of sunlight slanting through her window.
"Alright," she said, pushing herself upright with a grunt. "Crisis can wait. Food first."
She gathered her hair into a quick loose braid, stretched her legs one by one, and trotted toward the kitchen. Cooking dinner would give her something normal to focus on. Something she definitely couldn't mess up just because she happened to have boobs and a booty that was two meters away from her torso now.
Hopefully.
Kirika trotted into the kitchen, her hooves clicking gently against the tiles. At the counter, Papi and Suu were already there, squished together in front of the TV, wildly mashing controllers in what looked like a chaotic two-player racing game.
Papi was half-hanging off the stool, wings flapping excitedly. Suu had sort of puddled herself halfway over the seat and halfway onto the floor, her gooey arms forming clumsy thumbs for the buttons.
“Yo,” Kirika greeted, giving them a small wave.
“Hi Kiri!” Papi chirped, not taking her eyes off the screen.
“Suu says hiiii~!” the slime girl chimed in, her eyes wiggling in Kirika’s direction without slowing her button-mashing.
Kirika smiled and moved toward the kitchen proper.
Well… tried to, anyway.
Navigating the centaur-friendly kitchen was technically possible now thanks to the renovations made after Cerea moved in. Wide paths, reinforced counters, sturdy furniture bolted into place.
Technically.
Because "centaur-friendly" didn’t magically solve the problem of having a literal horse butt that she still couldn’t reliably account for.
As she shifted sideways to grab a mixing bowl, her hindquarters thwacked into a hanging pan rack, sending a dozen utensils clattering like a tiny cymbal parade.
She winced. Took two cautious steps forward… and immediately backed her left haunch into a cabinet door, which swung open and smacked her thigh with an undignified whap.
Kirika groaned, bracing herself against the counter. "God, someone needs to invent a reverse camera for centaurs. Or parking sensors. Something."
Papi's head popped up immediately. "Papi can help! Papi’s good at looking backwards!"
"Suu helps too~!" Suu agreed, bubbling happily.
Kirika blinked, halfway through unwrapping a bag of rice. "You guys wanna help? You do know that I am cooking, right?"
“Papi is the best at cooking!” Papi declared proudly.
Kirika tilted her head. "Didn’t you once try to cook an egg by throwing it at the sun?"
"Papi learned from her mistakes!" Papi said, puffing up her chest like she deserved a medal. "Papi can stir stuff! And taste test! And make pancakes! (sometimes.)"
“Suu is good at pancakes toooo~,” Suu echoed.
Kirika chuckled, setting the rice bag down with a thump.
There is absolutely no way either of them would be any help in the kitchen whatsover. In fact, there is a high likelihood they would only make things harder for Kirika.
That said, their innocent smiles were weapons for the heart.
"Alright," she said, rolling her shoulders. "You two are officially promoted to sous-chefs. Congratulations."
Papi immediately flapped her wings hard enough to nearly knock Suu off the stool.
“Papi won! Papi is So-chef first!”
“Suu is So-chef second~!”
Kirika smiled to herself as she started pulling ingredients out of the fridge.
Yeah, today had been exhausting.
But honestly?
Moments like these made it worth it.
Kirika lined up her ingredients on the counter. Rice, vegetables, chicken… doing her best to mentally map out the upcoming dinner steps.
But before she could even pick up a knife, she turned toward her two "assistants," who were both perched on stools like over-eager puppies.
"Alright, Papi, Suu," Kirika said seriously, crossing her arms. "I have a very important mission for you."
Papi’s wings flared with excitement. "Mission?!" "Suu likes missions toooo~!" Suu chimed, wobbling happily.
Kirika leaned down slightly to meet them at eye level, lowering her voice like she was sharing classified information.
"I need you two to watch my butt."
Papi blinked. Suu gurgled curiously.
"It’s very important," Kirika continued, keeping a completely straight face. "You two are the only ones fast enough. Brave enough. Skilled enough to do it."
Papi’s eyes shone like twin suns. "Papi will watch the horsebutt!" "Suu toooo~!" Suu agreed, saluting with a gooey little hand.
Kirika bit back a snicker, standing upright again. "Perfect. Then I’ll leave this task to you, my sous-chefs. Let’s do this."
From that point on, Kirika worked around the kitchen with Papi and Suu trailing faithfully behind her. Whenever Kirika so much as leaned a little too far to the side, one of them would chirp up helpfully.
"Careful, Kiri! Butt almost hit the fridge!" "Suu sees danger at three o’clock~!" "Tail alert! Tail alert!"
It was ridiculous. It was chaotic. It was… honestly kind of adorable.
Kirika was halfway through slicing vegetables when Papi, with absolutely no warning, blurted out:
"You’re really nice, Kiri."
Kirika blinked mid-chop, glancing over her shoulder with a raised eyebrow. "Of course I’m nice."
Papi giggled, rocking back and forth on her stool. "Oh yeah! Papi forgot! Husband was always nice too!"
Kirika chuckled, the warmth of it spreading up her chest despite herself. "Yeah, well. Guess I can’t turn it off now."
It was a sweet moment.
Brief.
Pure.
Which, naturally, meant it couldn’t last.
Papi tilted her head and, as casually as if asking for a snack, chirped: "Hey, Kiri, can Papi boing your boobs?"
Kirika froze mid-slice. "I’m sorry — what?"
Papi clapped her hands together in pure excitement. "Papi wants to bounce Kiri’s boobs! Papi always asks Cerea, but she says nooo~!"
Suu slithered closer, nodding eagerly. "Suu wants to bounce toooo~!"
Kirika turned slowly, the knife still in her hand, staring at the two tiny chaos engines looking at her with the most hopeful expressions in the universe.
"I— that’s not— you can't just—!" she sputtered, face heating up rapidly.
But Papi pressed on, wings fluttering. "You’re nice! Nice Kiri lets Papi boing! Pleaaase?"
Suu chimed again, gooey hands clasped together pleadingly. "Suu promises to be gentle~!"
Kirika opened her mouth to deliver a very adult, responsible answer.
Instead, she just let out a long, suffering sigh.
"...Fine. One bounce each. One. And you better be gentle."
The moment the words left her mouth, Papi let out a shriek of victory and launched herself upward with an almost professional level of enthusiasm.
"Sneak attack!!"
Suu followed suit, slithering up and flopping gently against Kirika’s other side.
And so, for the next thirty seconds of her life, Kirika endured both Papi and Suu gleefully bouncing, squishing, and otherwise jostling her chest like they were testing the world's softest trampoline.
She kept her hands firmly on the counter, eyes closed, muttering to herself under her breath.
"Dignity. Dignity. Dignity… this is fine. Everything’s fine."
It was not fine.
But somehow, weirdly enough, she couldn’t stop the tiny smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
Somehow… this ridiculous, insane life really wasn’t so bad after all.
—
The kitchen was filled with the rich, warm smells of cooked rice, sizzling vegetables, and seared chicken by the time Kirika finished. Plates were loaded, bowls were stacked, and the table practically groaned under the weight of the feast.
One by one, the girls filtered into the dining room.
Papi zipped in first, nose twitching, practically hovering midair from the smell alone.
Suu puddled after her, humming happily.
Mero floated in gracefully in her wheelchair, clapping her hands with delight.
Miia pushed her, out of politeness maybe, but probably out of shared food interest.
Cerea followed, straight-backed and dignified as ever… though even she looked a little bit giddy.
Lala appeared last, dramatically brandishing her fork like a sacred relic of the underworld.
They all gathered around, eager, hungry, noisy—and Kirika couldn't help but smile as she set down the final platter in the center of the table.
"Alright, everybody," she said, wiping her hands on a dish towel. "Dinner's ready. Dig in."
A chorus of cheers and chirps filled the air as plates were passed around and food was piled high. Kirika moved quietly among them, refilling bowls, handing out extra napkins, making sure everyone had water.
In a way, it felt… good.
Weirdly good.
Watching over everyone like this, making sure they were fed and happy.
Was this what being a mom felt like? Kirika wondered, laughing silently to herself. Well. A hot centaur mom, apparently.
She was just about to sit down herself when the front door creaked open.
“Smells edible,” a familiar lazy voice called out. “I’m impressed.”
Mrs. Smith sauntered in, wearing her usual professional-but-somehow-sleepy expression, a pair of sunglasses still perched on her head despite the evening hour.
Kirika raised an eyebrow. "Good to see you too."
Mrs. Smith smirked, sniffing the air dramatically. “Really good, actually. You’re setting the bar dangerously high for house husbands... or house centaurs, I guess.”
Kirika just chuckled and finally dropped into her seat, picking up her fork. She looked around the table. Papi shoveling rice into her mouth with both hands, Suu attempting to eat and clap at the same time, Mero politely cutting her food into tiny, dainty pieces, Cerea silently basking in the good food, and Lala dramatically announcing blessings upon the meal like it was a dark sacrament.
And now Mrs. Smith, somehow blending into the chaos like she belonged there too.
Kirika smiled warmly to herself.
“With friends like this,” she said, quietly but sincerely, “I think it might last a lot longer.”
Mrs. Smith, who had snagged a spring roll off a nearby plate without shame, turned toward her, raising an eyebrow.
“Well... maybe not that much longer,” she said lightly, waving the food in her hand like a wand. “From the readings we got back, that little potion accident should wear off soon. Probably tomorrow, actually.”
Kirika stiffened slightly, fork hovering halfway to her mouth.
Smith’s smile softened just a little. “But…” she continued, a tiny glimmer of something—concern?—passing through her eyes. “You’re a little... different. More than we expected. Might be a quirk in the way the potion reacted. Nothing to worry about though!”
She laughed it off, waving a hand lazily, as if she hadn't just casually dropped that bomb at dinner.
No one was reassured.
The table went oddly quiet for a few moments, everyone exchanging uncertain glances. Even Lala looked subdued, which, frankly, was a red flag all on its own.
Kirika forced herself to smile and keep eating. She didn’t want to worry them.
But somewhere deep inside, a tiny thread of unease tugged at her.
What’s going to happen tomorrow? she wondered, glancing down at the hands she had only just started getting used to.
The table eventually returned to its usual cheerful clatter of forks and conversation, but for Kirika, the question hung heavy in the back of her mind.
To be continued...
