Interspecies Potion Solution Part 2 Chapter 1

Kirika Kurusu yawned as the early morning sun poured through her bedroom window, illuminating the ceiling with a soft, golden glow. She stretched her arms overhead and blinked her eyes open slowly… before instinctively rolling to her side and…
Thud.
Right off the edge of her bed.
“Uugh... right. Still a centaur,” Kirika groaned from the floor, limbs flailing slightly as she tried to reorient herself. Her long equine body had sprawled halfway across the room, tangled in the blanket she didn’t even remember dragging along.
It had been a full week since Miia’s little "accident" with that cursed potion. One moment she was Kimihito Kurusu, the long-suffering host to a group of eccentric extra-species girls… and the next, she was Kirika, a very tall, very busty, very four-legged centaur girl.
At this point, waking up with a tail, hooves, a lot of legs, and the ability to knock things over just by turning too quickly was practically normal.
After a few awkward minutes of half-crawling and adjusting her limbs, she finally stood upright. Well, as upright as a centaur could get. Kirika still wasn’t used to the fact that her new ‘upright’ meant half her body was technically sideways. In any case she took a deep breath, steadying herself as she looked around her modified bedroom.
The household had been surprisingly efficient when it came to making her living space centaur-compatible. Her bed had been replaced with a larger platform mat with extra padding, her desk and mirror had been raised, and all furniture with narrow paths had either been pushed out or reinforced. The only thing that hadn’t been adjusted was the ceiling fan, which was now deactivated permanently after that one incident with her ponytail.
She trotted gently toward the bathroom, her hooves making soft clops against the floor. It was a little tight, but thanks to some clever rerouting (and Cerea’s input), she could now fit her rear end in without too much furniture being destroyed. She brushed her teeth, tied her hair into a loose braid, and took a moment to examine her reflection.
It was still strange. Still surreal.
Her face was hers… but softer, smoother. Feminine. Her upper torso looked more like a model's than a body she ever imagined she’d own. And below the waist? Still a powerful, muscular centaur body with sleek black fur, toned legs, and enough horsepower to knock over a small car if she ever ran full speed.
Which, unfortunately, she’d learned the hard way when she accidentally crashed through the neighbor’s hedge last Thursday.
She sighed, then smiled faintly. “Well… at least I’ve stopped breaking doorframes.”
Her ears twitched when she heard a gentle knock on the door.
“Kirika, art thou prepared?” Cerea’s voice rang out clearly. “The morning run awaits.”
“Coming!” Kirika called back, hastily slipping on her upper-body exercise top. One of the many things borrowed from dear Cerea, since no other girl had clothes anywhere near Kirika’s chest size.
Morning runs with Cerea had become a daily thing. At first, Kirika had only gone along so she could understand Cerea and centaurs some more. But over time, she started to enjoy them. Galloping at full speed across the park paths, feeling the wind in her face and the rhythm of her steps… it was certainly exhilarating. Maybe a bit exhausting too, but worth it.
She stepped out into the hallway, greeted by Cerea’s usual proud and dignified posture. The centaur knight looked her up and down once, then gave a firm nod of approval.
“Thou hast improved much in posture and pace,” Cerea said. “This day, I believe we may attempt the long trail.”
“Easy for you to say,” Kirika muttered with a smirk. “You were born with four legs. I’m still trying to figure out where my center of gravity is.”
They trotted down the stairs side by side, passing the quiet living room where Suu still napped draped over the couch and Papi had somehow wedged herself halfway into a lampshade.
Same old household. Same chaos.
Kirika opened the door, letting in the morning breeze. She glanced at Cerea, who already had her game face on, stretching her legs in precise, graceful motions.
A new day. A new set of absurd events probably waiting around the corner. But at least she was getting better at handling them… with hooves and all.
“Alright,” Kirika said, pawing lightly at the ground. “Let’s run.”
Cerea nodded approvingly. This is how most of their days now started and Kirika was sort of getting the hang of it quite well. Most of the chaos started after they came back from their run, so this time was honestly one of the more chill times. Gave Kirika the possibility to wake up and gather her thoughts about the coming day.
And yet, no amount of galloping ever prepared her for what the girls had in store. Speaking of which…
Chapter 1: “Saddled With Love”
“Kirika! I want to ride you!”
“...”
Miia stared up at her with sparkles in her eyes, hands planted firmly on her hips and tail coiled behind her like a spring ready to launch.
“...”
Kirika blinked once. Then again.
“Miia, I just came back from my jog thirty seconds ago. Could you at least wait until I’ve had a shower before saying stuff like that?”
Miia pouted. “Geez, you make it sound so indecent! It’s not like I meant it that way… I mean, not entirely that way…”
Kirika gave her a look. Miia immediately held up her hands, faking innocence.
“No, really!” Miia insisted, pulling a dog-eared book from behind her back. “I’ve been reading up on centaur customs… super informative, by the way… and did you know that letting someone ride on your back is, like, one of the most intimate things a centaur can do?”
Kirika narrowed her eyes. “And where did you find that?”
“The internet. And a weird old centaur forum. Also this one blog that may or may not be written by a minotaur pretending to be a centaur, but still, the point stands!”
Kirika sighed deeply, wiping a bead of sweat off her brow with a towel. Her muscles still ached a little from the morning run. Her breathing hadn’t even returned to normal yet.
And yet, when she looked into Miia’s eyes, there it was that wild, determined spark. The same spark she got when she was about to do something deeply questionable but, somehow, also from the heart.
Kirika groaned softly. “Miia…”
Miia was already making grabby hands.
“You’re not going to let this go, are you?”
“Never!”
“Fine. Let me take a shower first,” Kirika muttered, turning toward the hallway, “and then we can try it. In the park. Where there's space. And no breakable furniture.”
“YES!!” Miia launched into the air like a coiled spring, her tail slamming the floor in a burst of excitement. “This is gonna be the best bonding moment ever!”
Kirika paused in the doorway, glancing back with a tired expression.
“Only for experimental purposes, right?”
“No promises!” Miia beamed.
Kirika sighed, muttering under her breath as she trotted toward the bathroom. “Welp, I certainly wasn't prepared for this, that's for sure…”
—
The morning sun had climbed just high enough to cast long shadows across the quiet park trails. Birds chirped. A light breeze rustled the leaves. It was peaceful… serene…
And then there was them.
Kirika stood stiffly in the middle of a grassy clearing, legs spread for stability, trying not to overthink what she’d just agreed to.
“So… what exactly am I supposed to do?” she asked cautiously, glancing back at the very eager lamia behind her.
Miia grinned like she’d just won the lottery. “Just stand there and let me do the rest!”
Kirika blinked. “Right. Because that’s never gone wrong before.”
But she stayed still. Tense, but still. Miia slithered forward with glee practically radiating off her. Her tail coiled beneath her in preparation.
“Okay, here we go! One, two… hup!”
With a determined grunt, Miia hoisted herself up and managed to plop her upper body onto Kirika’s back with a solid thump. Her hands landed on Kirika’s shoulders, and her hips pressed against the centaur’s spine. But her tail… was still very much on the ground, trailing off in a long, lazy S-shape behind them.
Kirika stared forward, utterly still. “No offense… but I’m not sure I’m physically capable of carrying an entire lamia.”
Miia gasped, clutching her imaginary pearls. “How dare you! I’m very light for a lamia!”
Kirika didn’t move. “Miia, your tail alone is, like… eight meters long. You’re mostly tail. That’s not slander, that’s math.”
“Oh yeah?” Miia huffed, determination doubling as she began to pull herself further up Kirika’s back. “Well, prepare to be amazed!”
Kirika braced herself as coil after coil of scaly tail started rising off the grass and piling onto her back and flanks. Each new loop pressed down with a little more weight, making Kirika’s hooves dig into the dirt for balance.
“Okay… okay…” Kirika grunted, adjusting her stance. “It’s not… impossible… but it’s like carrying a very determined anaconda made of bricks.”
Miia laughed triumphantly. “See?! I told you I was manageable!”
Then her tail slipped slightly and pulled them both a few centimeters off-balance. Kirika wobbled with a startled grunt.
“Correction,” Kirika muttered. “Manageable… with constant life-or-death adjustments.”
“Don’t be dramatic! You’re doing great!” Miia beamed. “This is so romantic! I bet this is how Cerea felt the first time she let someone ride her!”
Kirika groaned. “Miia, I’m begging you… don’t bring her into this.”
“Why shouldn’t I bring up Cerea?” Miia asked, pouting slightly as she continued adjusting her coils on Kirika’s back. “If Darling’s ridden her before, then it’s only fair I get to ride you now!”
Kirika’s ears twitched. Her legs wobbled a little as another heavy loop of lamia tail slumped over her side. “It’s different!”
Miia narrowed her eyes. “How is it different? Am I not—”
She never got to finish the sentence.
In her dramatic flourish, Miia shifted her weight a bit too far left… just enough to ruin what little balance Kirika had left. The combined instability of lamia momentum and exhausted centaur muscles tipped them both sharply to the side.
“W-Whoa-!”
“Miia, no-!”
And then: CRASH.
Bushes rustled violently as the two toppled into a leafy mess, vanishing into the underbrush with a thud, a squeal, and several loud snaps of twigs and unfortunate branches.
For a moment, all was still.
Then, from the heart of the shrub, a groan.
“Ow…”
Kirika blinked open her eyes, dazed, her head tilted awkwardly to the side. A breeze brushed over her chest… too much of her chest.
She looked down and immediately froze.
Her bra, which was borrowed from Cerea, had caught on a branch and torn clean in half during the fall. And as if fate wanted to make things worse, Miia’s hand had landed directly over one of her breasts in a firm, unapologetic grip.
They both locked eyes.
Miia blushed a fiery red. “Uhhh…”
Kirika’s voice was a breathless whisper. “Your hand.”
“I-it’s for balance!” Miia squeaked.
Kirika raised an eyebrow, still pinned under coils and leaves. “Miia, we already fell.”
Before either of them could process the situation further…
“Are you two unharmed?!” a voice boomed from the path.
Cerea exploded out from behind a nearby tree, sword halfway unsheathed, panic in her eyes and fire in her step. She took one look at the bush tangle and froze, her expression flickering between concern and barely-suppressed embarrassment.
Miia immediately yelped and pulled away from Kirika, flailing out of the bush in a mess of leaves and limbs. Kirika hastily scrambled upright as well, trying to cover her chest with one arm while tugging scraps of her top with the other.
“We’re fine! Totally fine!” Miia shouted.
“Absolutely nothing happened,” Kirika added quickly, even as she tried to spit a twig out of her mouth.
Cerea blinked. “Thou art both... red in the face and tangled in foliage.”
“Coincidence!” Miia blurted.
Kirika groaned. “...Please don’t tell anyone about this.”
Cerea sheathed her sword slowly, face burning. “I shall pretend I saw naught. However…”
She stepped forward, her face still flushed, but now fixed with stern resolve. “I cannot overlook this,” she said, eyes narrowing at Miia. “Thou hast ruined the undergarments and outerwear that I, in goodwill and respect, lent unto Mistress Kirika.”
Miia flinched like she’d been slapped with a rolled-up scroll. “Wait! Hold on! It was an accident! I didn’t mean to destroy your stuff! It’s not like I planned to crash into the bush boob-first!”
Cerea’s voice was sharp, but almost theatrical. “Intent matters not! The damage is clear! Thy recklessness hath desecrated my favorite exercise ensemble–”
“Cerea,” Kirika cut in gently, raising a hand.
The knight paused, blinking.
Kirika sighed, still holding what was left of her shredded top in place. “Even though it was a stupid idea, I should have seen it coming. I didn’t think far enough ahead to stop it. And that the clothes were destroyed was kinda… bad luck to be fair. So I am kinda at fault here too.”
Miia turned toward her, stunned. “K-Kirika…”
“So don’t take it out on her, okay?” Kirika said, giving Cerea a weary smile, “I’ll make sure to buy and replace all the things I ruined, okay?”
Cerea stared at her, mouth slightly open. The righteous flame in her eyes flickered… and then, slowly, dimmed.
She crossed her arms and let out a slow, reluctant breath. “...Very well. Let it be known this burden is shared.”
Miia collapsed onto Kirika’s side, dramatically pressing a hand to her heart. “Oh thank god. I thought I was going to be run through with a lance or something.”
“I carry no lance today,” Cerea said flatly. “Only regulation steel breastplate. And spare gauntlets. And a helmet, if needed.”
Kirika blinked. “Wait… you have a breastplate on you right now?”
Without missing a beat, Cerea pulled a modest chestplate from her satchel, polished to a gleam and clearly sized to her dimensions… which, thanks to the Mirror-gänger elixir, weren’t too far off from Kirika’s. In fact, they were exactly hers as well. “A knight must be ever prepared for battle, regardless of time or attire.”
Miia squinted. “Were you actually ready to fight me over this?”
Cerea avoided eye contact. “...The bush was loud.”
“Unreal,” Kirika muttered, slipping the breastplate over her exposed chest and adjusting the straps with a small wince. It wasn’t exactly comfortable, but it beat walking home in tatters. “Thanks, Cerea. Seriously.”
“Of course, Mistress Kirika. It is only just that I shield you,” Cerea said with a proud nod. “Even from shrubbery.”
Miia snorted. “Okay, now you’re just being dramatic.”
With that, the three of them started making their way back down the trail, Kirika clanking gently with every step, her hooves echoing alongside Cerea’s.
Behind them, the poor bush rustled one last time as one final branch snapped in defeat. No bush could survive a bodyslam of a centaur and a lamia combined, so let's have a moment of silence for our fallen hero…

…how does a lamia even ride a centaur?
