Infodump: -Shinpachi Nagakura and Shinpachi Shimura of gintama are based on the IRL Shinpachi Nagakura, captain of the Shinsengumi’s 2nd squad (imagine how weird gintama would be of Shinpachi was a high ranking member of the Shinsengumi) and one of the last surviving members of the Shinsengumi.
Plus, Lieutenant Tsurumi is voiced by Abuto from Gintama and Jiraiya from NARUTO.
