Sorry for being so quiet in the last weeks, I wanted to give you enough time to vote on the character suggestion poll for the Home Office Game and there are still new people participating every day. But the wait was worth it: As I am writing this, 74 people suggested and voted for their favorite characters to be featured in my next game. And the results are very interesting! So let's take a closer look.
The characters
Being one of the game's central characters, I was really looking forward to seeing your suggestions for the "boss" role. To little surprise, Bowsette comfortably won that category with 42.5% of you voting for her. Second place for the "boss" role is... me. Not sure what that says about your perception of me but thanks to whoever added that choice. ๐คญ
Loona and Widowmaker were popular suggestions too but I think I'll go with your vote and pick Bowsette for the "boss".
Mercy as the "coworker" role is similarly popular (41.7% of participants), however I'm considering to take the role into a different direction. DVa is the most popular vote for the camgirl character and with her whole gamer girl image, I can really see that working well. But since I'd like to avoid having two characters from the same fandom, I will likely go with the second most voted "coworker" character: Twilight Sparkle.
Since I know not everyone likes ponies and furry characters (more about that later), I will only use humanized depictions of Twilight. If I can't find enough usable images, I might have to go with Mercy or someone else after all. ๐ค
DVa also won the "girlfriend" role (33.8%) but while working on the concept and story for the game, I really fell in love with the idea of having Nagatoro as the girlfriend character. I've only watched the first episode of the anime so far but from what I know about her character, she just perfectly fits my plans for the story.
To no one's surprise, the adorable king of femboys, Astolfo, won the vote for the "friend" character (39.1%). I'm excited to feature them as the first prominent non-female character in one of my games (unless you count futa, which was featured plenty in the past). ๐
As I mentioned already, DVa won the vote for the "camgirl" character (30.6%). Interestingly, she was only the 17th character to be submitted and while I hadn't considered her at all before, it just makes perfect sense. But that's the beauty of this poll: You can get creative and share ideas which myself and others might not have had. ๐
The "AI Assistant" role was pretty close between Cortana and Sam, with Sam winning by only six votes (45.2%). And although your vote isn't binding for me, I simply agree. I think Sam will work great as your sexy digital assistant.
In addition to those five roles, I also added five new roles which you had suggested in the poll. Since these likely won't make it into the Home Office game (at least not the first one), we'll just quickly look at the winners:
Stepsister: 1. Misty - 2. Gwen Stacy - 3. Futaba > I'd probably choose Gwen (maybe Misty if I can find enough usable pictures)

HR Rep: 1. Princess Luna - 2. Yukiko Amagi - 2. Himiko Toga > tbh this was mostly a joke role because I wanted to see what you would suggest. Toga as HR rep sounds fun though. ๐
The rating scales
Besides the character suggestions, I also asked you to submit a value between 1 and 10 for two questions. The first scale asked for your preferred ratio of JOI to storytelling. With an average value of 4.6, you want JOI and story to be balanced but slightly prefer a focus on instructions. As I've announced in my last posts, the Home Office Game will be more story focused than my last games. However, I already have some ideas on how to insert masturbation instructions into the game - I know why you're playing it after all. ๐
The vote asking about the importance of character-authentic dialogue resulted in an average value of 4.7, meaning it's pretty important to you but not crucial for an enjoyable experience. To be completely honest, I was quite happy about this result. I have some specific ideas for the roles and I will have to somewhat bend the characters to fit those roles. Additionally, writing dialogue in a way that sounds authentic to the character is much, much more difficult than just writing dialogue freely. So seeing that you don't care about it that much makes me feel much better about writing the dialogue.
The open answers
Lastly, I also had some open questions for you to answer in your own words. These were actually the most interesting for me because they grant me deeper insight into your ideas and preferences.
For the question asking about the kinks that should be featured in the game, there were a lot of answers I expected (like edging, anal, CEI, femdom) and quite a lot which were less predictable. For example, almost a fifth of all people who answered this question suggested some form of humiliation. On the other hand were submissions asking me to please make the story wholesome and the characters not too mean. I'll have to see what this means for the story and the game in general but I'll definitely do my best to find a good balance.
Regarding game features, most of you asked for different options, replayability and multiple endings. All of those are central aspects of my concept for the game, so you can look forward to that. However, they are also the main reason the game takes so long to put together. ๐
The thing with the ponies
Looking at the results, I noticed something which I feel I should address: There were quite a few people who participated in the poll and exclusively suggested and voted for characters from My Little Pony. Despite the obvious demand, I don't plan on having a specific focus on furry or pony characters in this Home Office Game. But maybe I'll create an alternate pony version or spin off in the future. Mixing furry and non-furry characters is difficult because for people who don't enjoy furry content, a little bit is already too much.
That being said, I can certainly picture it working well with the ponies' different personalities but I really want to create a project with new characters or at least a new combination of characters for now. I'm sure the furry and pony fans of you will enjoy this game despite the lack of non-human characters. Just know that I am seeing you, even when I'm not working on a pony game at the moment. ๐ค
So what's next?
In my last post I announced that I will give you a first look at the story today. However, considering this post is already really long, I'll save that for another time. That will also give me some time to maybe add some of your suggestions to the story. I've also already put together the first interactions with the boss, the coworker and the camgirl and I hope to be able to give you a first playable demo soon.
However, before that, I have something very special for you! In about a week, patrons will get early access to the very first Morexis Minigame. As many of my past games, this game started as a small idea and has turned into something much bigger by now. I think I'll stick with the title regardless, simply because it sounds cool. ๐
It's quite different than anything you've seen from me before, so I'm really interested in seeing how you like it. I feel like it might be one of those games which some people absolutely love and others don't like at all. But we'll see.
I'm planning to create both a public and a Patreon exclusive version with the only difference being the characters available for you to select. But I'll tell you all about that when I post the early access.
Closing words
To finish this post, I want to thank everyone who participated in the poll. As some of you know, I study a social science at university, so conducting and analyzing surveys like this is always a lot of fun for me. And I'm really happy with the results; the character lineup would have looked very differently without your creative contributions. ๐
I also want to highlight a reply one of you wrote in the open questions: "Just take your time and do what you do best to make a pleasureable experience". It might seem silly or insignificant but after sadly having to read more comments of the opposite sentiment in the last weeks, this submission made me really happy. ๐
I am incredibly thankful for all of your support and I would love to publish amazing new games every week for you. However, I have a life besides these games and other responsibilities requiring my time and attention. And even if I worked on my games all day every day, they simply take some time to create. I can only repeat the sentiment I've expressed many times in the past: A high level of quality is more important than any other aspect of these games. And creating high quality content takes time. I would much rather publish one Lost in Lewd Labyrinth per year than a loveless, shallow, uninspired game every month. There are more than enough creators doing that already. ๐ถ
