“I'm really surprised you never came here. I thought your mother would have brought you to this place.”
“No, she didn't.” She told him before asking. “And where is here exactly?”
“I'm sure you know the history of Winterfell, and the reason why Brandon ‘The Builder’ decided to build his castle exactly where we're standing, right?”
“Of course.” Sansa declared proudly, unlike her younger sister, she always paid attention to her lessons. Although, the history lessons always felt boring to her, she listened and learned anyway. “Brandon built the castle right here because of the hundreds of subterranean hot springs, he built the castle in such a way so that the heat from the waters can rise up the walls and keep its inhabitants warm even in the most brutal winters.”
“That's right.” Daemon told her, stopping and turning to her so he could pull her into his arms and congratulate her with a small kiss before saying. “Always the perfect girl, aren't you?”

“I always pay attention to my lessons.”

“Now, if you paid attention to your surroundings, you would know where we are by now.”
Hearing him say that, Sansa began to examine her surroundings and quickly realizing the place he had brought her to, she said sounding surprised.
“But I thought the hot springs were so deep that they were completely inaccessible.”
“That's where you're wrong. Although, most of them are completely inaccessible, there are some that we can get to and enjoy.” Daemon told her, giving her a final peck on the lips before releasing her and heading for the massive double doors that stood in front of them, pushing them open. Daemon revealed what was hidden inside, Sansa entered the room with an expression of wonder and surprise on her face, inside was a huge pool of completely crystal-clear water from which smoke was emanating signaling how hot the water was.

Cersei was sure that if Ned wore a dress, Robert would probably push her aside and take his honorable and foolish friend as his wife, but if that wasn't enough, Eddard Stark was not the Stark she most detested. After all, she would meet Lyanna Stark there, too. Though, if she was honest, a part of her wished she could have a word with the bitch of the North, Cersei was curious to see for herself if the rumors she'd heard were true.
The girl was said to have regained her spirit once she returned to her homeland. Her grim and horrid people loved her of course, and hated the memory of the Targaryen’s, especially Rhaegar Targaryen for the alleged 'crimes' he had committed against their Lady. For her part, she always believed that all those stories were pure rubbish, she doubted that the silver prince had really done all those things they accused him of. Though it had always bothered her that Rhaegar had chosen Lyanna over her, it was not only enough that he had refused to marry her, but instead started a war by deciding to run off with Lyanna Stark.
The man Cersei had always wanted to marry died for choosing Lyanna and the man she ended up marrying called her Lyanna on their wedding night. And despite the years that had passed, Cersei knew that he had not stopped thinking of her. Cersei was the Queen, she wore the crown and carried the power, but she always felt she had lost to Lyanna Stark. And that hadn't stopped bothering her all these years.
And it didn't help that she hadn't been able to get any release during this whole journey. For a strange reason Jaime had started acting off, the fool always cared too much about what people thought of him, no matter how many times Father or she reminded him, 'That a lion should not be bothered with the opinion of the sheep'. Jaime never seemed to learn, and because he cared so much about the opinion of the small folk, reuniting with his hero and former mentor, Ser Arthur Dayne, had him acting like a green boy all over again. All the feelings of guilt and dishonor resurfaced in his mind again and that prevented him from being able to sleep with her.
His fool of a brother thought that somehow Arthur Dayne would know of their secret and judge him for it. Cersei couldn't believe how he could really care about the opinion of an exiled Knight who chose to be her sister's bastard's nursemaid over continuing to serve as a member of the Kings guard. No doubt Jaime had earned the title of stupidest Lannister, and worst of all, that only she would be the one affected.
With a sigh, she resigned herself to the idea that she would have to endure the rest of the journey like this. If she had known she would have at least brought Lancel. Well, maybe she should find a new boy toy on this trip, and Jaime couldn't blame her, it was his fault for not satisfying her desires after all. Daemon rode with Robb, Theon and Brandon, Lord Stark had received news that they had captured a deserter of the Night's Watch and as Lord of these lands, it was his duty to pass the sentence and execute him for having abandoned his duties. There were also slight murmurs and a derisive snort from Theon when the member from the Watch mentioned seeing the walkers, obviously everyone took it as the talk of a madman, but Daemon would not be as quick to dismiss his words as everyone else.
Those being the man's last words, Lord Stark took the sword before he began to speak the words. Before he finished, Daemon said to Brandon.
“Don't look away, your father will know if you do.”
The little Stark nodded and tried to keep his gaze forward, everyone watched as Lord Stark finally finished saying the appropriate speech before the execution and raising the large sword, he brought it down with great force, making a clean cut, separating the head from the body. Noticing that Brandon had managed to hold his gaze, Daemon gave him a light squeeze on the shoulder before returning to their horses.
On their way back to the castle they were met with a strong stench of death and a very strange sight, a huge stag lay dead on the road, the creature had been savagely attacked and appeared to be half gutted, they all dismounted from their horses to analyze the corpse.
“Mountain lion?” Theon asked dumbly, but Ned reminded him.
“There are no mountain lions around this area.”
The group breaks off to try to search for traces of the creature that had done this, and it didn't take long to do so. For only a few yards away, hidden in the trees Daemon found the animal responsible for the attack, it was a huge female Direwolf, dead as well, a huge piece of antler stuck in its throat. Apparently both creatures had managed to kill each other, but what surprised Daemon was that the animal did not seem to be alone, he counted six pups next to the corpse of their mother.
When the rest of the group came over to see his discovery, Theon was the first to speak again, only to say stupidly.
“It's a freak.”
But this time, it was Daemon who corrected him by saying.
“It's a Direwolf, you idiot.”
Theon looked at him angrily, but did not answer him, only deigning to say.
“There haven't been Direwolve’s south of the wall for over two hundred years.”
“Well, now there are six.” Daemon said.
Sure enough, Bran was the first to step forward and take one of the pups in his arms, petting it affectionately, probably already thinking of a name in his head. Robb and he shared a smile as they watched him, following his example, Robb also took one and he did the same, but he quickly handed it to Brandon.
“Here you go.”
The little Stark struggled to carry two puppies in his arms, creating an amusing scene, but turning to him, he asked with concern.
"What will happen to them? Their mother is dead.”
“They don't belong here.” This time it was Ser Rodrik who spoke.
“A merciful death then, they will not survive without their mother.” Lord Stark declared, creating mixed emotions in the group.
Theon without waiting to hear more, unsheathed his dagger and demanded one of the pups from Brandon, but Robb stepped between them and said disgustedly to the Squid.
“Put away your blade.”
To which the arrogant Greyjoy replied defiantly.
“I take orders from your father, not you.”
“Father, please!” Bran, pleaded to his father.
“I'm sorry, Bran.” Ned told him heavily, not needing to say more, he started to ride off back to the horses, but stopped abruptly when Daemon spoke to him.
"Lord Stark, the Direwolf is the sigil of your House, it would not bode well if you decided to kill them. Besides, there are six pups, one for each of the Stark children and one for your sister. I'm sure she would love to have one and will not be at all happy when she finds out you decided to kill them instead of taking them in."
Everyone turned to the Lord of Winterfell to see what his decision would be. After a few seconds, he let out a defeated sigh, but not before telling them.
“You will train them yourselves; you will feed them yourselves, and if they die, you will bury them yourselves.”
Bran smiled happily, and looked at him gratefully, Daemon simply nodded at him before they began to take the rest of the pups and take them with them. But before they left, Daemon heard a faint whimper in the distance, going to the source of the sound, Robb asked him as he walked away.
“What's that about?”
But without stopping, Daemon followed the sound until he found one last cub, this one seemed to have distanced himself from the rest and was also very different from the rest of his siblings. The color of its fur was so white that it could easily camouflage itself with the snow and unlike the rest, this one had its eyes wide open and didn't seem to produce any sound, holding it by the scruff of the neck, Daemon was able to stare into his eyes, a pair of blood red orbs stared back at him. Becoming fascinated with the animal and almost instantly feeling a strong connection with him, Daemon declared with a smile.
“This one is mine.”
