“And who exactly are you referring to when you mention this 'Prince who was Promised'. Are you talking about Jon or Daenerys? Or maybe someone else?” Arya was the one who asked the red woman, her question coming out with a mocking and sarcastic tone as she looked at her annoyingly with her arms crossed. “It's hard to keep up with them knowing which one is indicating, since even among yourselves you can't agree. Since the last red priestess to come to Westeros fanatically preached that this 'Prince Who Was Promised' was about Stannis. I wonder if you think the same.”
Easily sensing the clear hostility, the youngest Stark felt towards her, Kinvara clasped her hands together in front of her and replied in a calm and collected tone.
“I am well aware of all the many mistakes Melisandre made during her time in Westeros. She was always a very talented priestess, with a powerful vision, but she always rushed to the facts and more than once misinterpreted the visions of the Lord of Light. Sometimes she decided to draw her own conclusions from the visions before she fully understood what our Lord was trying to show her. That is why she failed in her mission and is now paying for the many mistakes she made. And it is for that very reason that the Lord of Light sent me here, I come to right the wrongs Melisandre made, I come to serve the true champion of R'hllor and help him in any way he needs or requires.”
“That's good.” Bran said, finally raising his voice. “Because now more than ever, he needs your help.”
Not looking too affected by the news or the fact that Jon might be in danger, Kinvara opted to tell him.
“I've never seen one of your kind before.”
“I'm sure it's because you've never been this far north of Westeros, my Lady.”
With a slight smile the red woman replied.
"A user of the old magic, your kind in the old days was not usually confined to the north. Your kind used to inhabit all of Westeros, along with the giants. Well at least before the arrival of the Andals, I thought you had all perished, as had the giants."
“Not yet.” Was Brandon's simple, plain reply, before reminding her. “And I think we should focus on other, more important things now, like the Queen should be arriving in Winterfell any minute now.”
As soon as he said those words everyone in the room raised their gaze to the dark northern sky, expecting to see the huge, black wings of the Queen's dragon descending upon them, but though they stared for several seconds, nothing happened.
“You mentioned that the champion of light is hurt, may I know how this happened?” Kinvara asked, breaking the tense silence.
“He faced the Night King, what is that something you couldn't see in your visions in the flames?” Arya was the one who answered, chewing angrily on every word, her dislike for the priestess was more than clear.
But without responding to her sister's provocations, the red woman answered calmly.
“Of course I have seen the champion of R'hllor in my visions. I have seen him fight death itself and I have seen him triumph over it, but to achieve that he first needs to become completely into Azor Ahai, he needs to make the ultimate sacrifice in the same way he did eight thousand years ago, when he first created Lightbringer."
Although the Stark sisters did not know what the woman was referring to, Bran was more than aware of the prophecy and the sacrifice the hero who would bring the dawn had to make in order to forge the legendary Lightbringer sword and defeat the Others. Although he still hoped that Jon would not have to make such a sacrifice because the last Azor Ahai could not withstand the loss of his beloved and that was what ended up killing him.
“Will you really be able to heal Jon?”
This time it was Sansa's soft and more trembling voice that preunged.
"Of course, R'hllor will not let his champion fall before he fulfills his destiny and defeats the champion of the Great Other. No matter how wounded he is or even if he were to be dead, R'hllor will give him back the fire of life so that he may rise again and fight once more."
“We are counting on you, my Lady.” Bran expressed firmly.
"I am only a medium, my Lord. The true power belongs to the one true God of this world.”

Daenerys felt a glimmer of hope run through her as she finally caught a glimpse of Winterfell through the clouds. She immediately checked Jon's breathing and pulse again, making sure he was still alive, glad to see that despite how weakened and even in his unconscious state, he was still breathing. Taking his hand and squeezing it firmly, she said to him again.
"We're close now, my love. They're going to help you there; do you hear me? You're going to be okay; we're going to be okay.”
Unfortunately, Drogon was too big to land in the castle courtyard as she would have liked to do. So, she had no choice but to instruct him to land outside the Stark castle, when Drogon finally touched the ground, she was more than ready to carry an unconscious Jon by herself, but was surprised when she saw a small contingent of soldiers already waiting for her. They were the ones who helped her lower Jon's body before placing him on a stretcher and quickly beginning to carry him to the castle, Daenerys didn't wonder how they knew she would be returning so quickly or how they knew they would need a stretcher to carry Jon. Instead, she preferred to hand one of the soldiers Jon's swords before she began to follow them into the castle, she didn't plan on parting from Jon for anything. But as she walked alongside the soldiers who carried the unconscious body of her beloved who was still struggling to breathe, she didn't know what else she could do besides pray to any god who would listen to her that they would not be separated again.

Sansa had given explicit orders that they were to be informed when the Queen landed at Winterfell, but when they all heard the roar of the huge beast the Queen was flying over, they all hurried to the room they had prepared so that the priestess could attend to Jon.
In the middle of the way they met the soldiers who were carrying Jon, Sansa immediately became shocked and put her hands to her mouth, covering her gasp as she saw the huge wound in the middle of his chest, she was completely frozen in place as she looked at him in that condition. Arya on the other hand, moved quickly to Daenerys' side, taking her arm and hand, giving it a comforting squeeze before gently asking.
“Is he still alive?”
Daenerys did not hesitate to return the meaningful gesture and thanked her for the show of support, it was certainly something she needed right now. Daenerys watched as the soldiers placed Jon on the bed and even though they did it as gently and carefully as possible, he gasped in pain anyway.
“Yes, he is still alive, but he needs help immediately. Where is the Maester?” Daenerys asked her, scanning her surroundings desperately, but she did not see the Maester anywhere, but rather saw a person she did not expect to see in this place at all.
“There will be no need for a Maester, your Grace. I will personally take care of the King's wounds.” Kinvara declared proudly and confidently as she entered the room and glided across it until finally settling herself at the side of where Jon was lying.
The priestess analyzed him with great interest, drinking in his form satisfactorily, but when she wanted to reach out a hand and touch him, her advance was abruptly halted by a feminine hand that held her by the wrist. Lifting her gaze to the person who had stopped her, she found an angry dragon Queen who was giving her a piercing stare. Kinvara smiled slightly at the fact that she was sure that if the Queen could, she would be ashes right then and there.
“While I may have been grateful for your support during my time in Meereen, I don't trust witches. Especially not with something as important as Jon's life.” Daenerys told her firmly, still holding her hand.
Knowing full well the reason behind her distrust, Kinvara gave her a reassuring smile before telling her.
“I understand that very well, your Grace. But I am not a witch, I am a high priestess of R’hllor quiver, for the sole purpose of aiding the prince who was promised to defeat the champion of the Great Other. I promise you in the name of my Lord that I will do your King no harm.”
“If you do, believe me that I will not only rain fire and blood upon the Night King, but upon every member of your creed, I will melt the temples where your god is worshipped to ashes, should anything happen to Jon.”
“I believe you, your Grace.” Was all Kinvara said.
And even looking a bit reluctant, Daenerys released her hand anyway and stepped back again, letting her work. Nodding towards the Queen, Kinvara turned her attention back to the King in the North, this time lowering her hand to her abdomen, glad to see she still felt fire in it. Slowly she began to move her hand up until she reached where his wound was, carefully analyzing the ointment that had been applied to it, Kinvara turned to the Queen to ask.
“ Do you do this?”
Shaking her head, Daenerys answered her.
"No, it was the work of his uncle, Benjen Stark, it was thanks to him that I was able to get to save him from the clutches of the Night King. Why is there something wrong?”
Turning his attention back to Jon and analyzing the wound more closely, she replied.
“No, in fact, quite the opposite. By keeping him alive, Benjen Stark made my job much easier.”
Unexpectedly the red woman abruptly switched languages to Valyrian and shouted.
“Azantys hen Rullor!”
Quickly one of the soldiers who had come accompanying the high priestess entered the room and approached towards where Kinvara stood before quickly kneeling and bowing his head, awaiting his orders.
“Jiōragon rid hen aōha weapons se gelte.”
She commanded again and the soldier obeyed. Although almost everyone present did not understand the words, Daenerys could understand her, but still, she did not understand what her goal was. But anyway, she let her work and did not intervene, but as if she could hear her thoughts, Kinvara again turned her face towards her and asked.
“R'hllor will raise his champion again, but you better than anyone know that 'only death can pay for life'.”
Instinctively Daenerys' hand went to her belly, past memories came to her mind. But the priestess quickly calmed her by saying.
“Do not worry, your Grace. I would never dare make that kind of mistake. After all, I wouldn't want to face your wrath. But a life has to be taken anyway.”
Without hesitation in her mind, Daenerys answered her.
“Whatever it takes to save Jon, only that matters.”
Smiling at her, Kinvara spoke again in Valyrian and turning to the soldier said.
“Tepagon nyke aōha ondos azantys, iksā jāre naejot tepagon aōha ābrar syt mirros olvie rōvykta than aōla, feel proud naejot emagon issare iderēptan.”
The soldier did not respond, but he held out his hand to Kinvara anyway and the red woman took it, using her other hand to hold Jon's as she began to recite in High Valyrian. At first nothing extraordinary happened, but everyone was surprised when suddenly they could witness how the soldier's body seemed to be hit hard, his face began to swell and bruise to the point of being almost unrecognizable so that seconds later a huge wound opened up in his chest, one very similar to Jon's.
Of course, it began to bleed rapidly, but the surprising thing was that her blood did not spill on the ground, but began to travel towards the priestess' hand, passing through it until it reached Jon's body. The process only took a few seconds, but for everyone it was a grotesque spectacle that seemed to last for hours, which only seemed to end when Jon abruptly got up from the bed at the same time that the body of the soldier fell lifeless to the floor at the moment in which the red woman released his hand.
Daenerys was the first to run to him, followed quickly by Arya, each embracing him from her side. Daenerys analyzed him and could see that his face was as good as new and the grotesque scar he had was completely gone. Jon still clearly confused as to how he had ended up there, scanned his surroundings before focusing on Daenerys and asking her.
“What in seven hells happened?”

“I can't believe I actually had to be brought back to life by a red priestess, again.”
Jon mumbled tiredly to himself after his brothers finished explaining everything that had happened, about how Kinvara had managed to save his life. The first time Jon laid eyes on the red woman he thought it was Melisandre, but upon closer inspection, Jon easily noticed that it was not the former priestess who always followed Stannis everywhere. As pretty as Melisandre had been, she was not as exuberant or voluminous as Kinvara was, but both women definitely possessed that aura of knowledge and mystery around them.
“You weren't dead, your Grace. You were only seriously injured, healing you is much easier for me than bringing you back from the dead.”
Kinvara said as if it was the most natural thing in the world and Jon didn't know what to comment about that, since he had seen the moment when the men had removed the corpse of the poor bastard that the red woman had used as a ' voluntary sacrifice' to heal him. But in the end Jon decided to ignore that fact and in return say.
“I appreciate what you have done for me, my Lady.”
"I only do my Lord's will and he wants you alive, his Grace. He wishes you to fight the champion of the Great Other again and triumph over him."
Kinvara stated confidently again, but this time Jon had to tell her how he really felt.
“Well, I don't know if the Lord of Light saw what happened in White Harbor, but there's no way I can defeat the Night King.” Jon said defeatedly as he tried to stand up on his own. Arya and Daenerys quickly moved to help him hold himself up, Jon put both arms around their shoulders thanking them for their help before continuing. “It wasn't even a fight; he didn't even take me seriously. It just took him one punch to get me to my knees and then he proceeded to disarm me like I was nothing more than a boy so he could then stab me with my own sword. No matter how many times I face him, I can't defeat him.”
“Of course you can't defeat him, not in your current state at least.” Kinvara said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, but to the rest she was still speaking cryptically. So, Jon asked her.
“What on earth are you talking about?”
“To defeat the champion of the Great Other you need the blessing of R'hllor and to get that, you need to forge Lightbringer. The light it will give off from the legendary sword will be enough to banish the dead and you will gain a power so great that you will be above any mortal, you will be powerful enough to defeat the Night King and his army all by yourself.”
Kinvara recited proudly, but Jon quickly stopped her by saying.
"If you are talking about that I must do as Azor Ahai did eight thousand years ago and drive my sword through the beating heart of the woman I love to forge this legendary sword. Then my answer is the same as I gave to my brother, your god was wrong to choose me as his champion. For I will not do that, no matter if it means the end of the world, I will not sacrifice Daenerys for nothing.”
For the first time since her arrival, Kinvara was clearly affected by the words that were said and she again insisted more desperately, saying.
“But it is what is written, it is what has to be done to save-”
But Jon interrupted her again, saying strongly.
“Enough, I will not have this conversation again. My decision is final and you will not change my mind.”
“Perhaps we should leave this conversation for another time, the Night King and his army of the dead will be upon us at any moment and Jon needs to rest.”
Bran said, drawing the attention of all present. Followed by Daenerys who added.
"Your brother is right; you need to make a full recovery. Come on, I'll get you to bed.”

As both monarchs withdrew, Kinvara quickly turned to Bran and said.
"He needs to make the sacrifice or all will be in vain. He can never defeat the Night King without R’hllor blessing.”
“I fear you are right.” Was Bran's simple reply.
“You cannot simply ask him to murder the woman he loves. What kind of God demands that of anyone.”
Arya was the one who shouted indignantly.
“'No sacrifice, no victory,' my little she-wolf. You should know that by now and to gain great power requires great sacrifice. To save the world you must be willing to sacrifice what you love most, that is the price.” Kinvara answered her.
“Jon will never do it; he won't change his mind. He will never dare raise a weapon against Daenerys.” Sansa was the one to declare, sure of her words.
“I think you are right, Sansa. But the prophecy mentions that Azor Ahai sacrificed the person he loved most in this world to forge Lightbringer. It doesn't necessarily have to be about the woman he loves most. And Daenerys is not the only person Jon loves in this world.”
Bran said darkly as his gaze traveled between his sisters, but more specifically on Jon's favorite.

Arriving in her room, Daenerys helped Jon finish undressing, but he weakly complained saying.
“I'm fine, Dany. I don't need you to help me get my bloody pants off."
“You don't usually complain when I undress you.” Daenerys tried to say playfully with a smile, but she saw that her light banter could not change his sour mood and her smile quickly faded and her expression became more serious before she said. “Jon, don't you think we should talk-”
“No, Dany. There's nothing to talk about, there's nothing you could possibly say that would change my mind.” Jon said sharply, but Daenerys was no slouch and matching his fury answered him seriously.
“Jon is the future of the world we're talking about.”
Holding her by the shoulders, Jon said as he stared into her violet eyes. “You are my world, Dany. You are the only thing that matters to me.” Moving his hands to hold her face as he dropped his forehead on hers, he whispered wearily. "When that ice cunt comes to Winterfell, I'll face him again, we'll face him again. Even if it means our end, but I will not sacrifice you for victory. You said it yourself true, we will survive together or die together.”
“Together.” Daenerys whispered back as she wrapped her hands around his neck and kissed him deeply. Pulling apart after a few seconds, Daenerys told him. “Marry me, Jon. I want to be your wife, no matter what. I want to be yours in the eyes of gods and man.”
Showing a smile for the first time since he awoke, Jon told her.
“Of course I will marry you, Daenerys Targaryen. There is nothing I would love more than for you to be my wife.”

A little disappointed with this chapter, not specifically because of the plot, but rather that it is half as long as I had planned. I would have liked to include the wedding and the Smut scene, but unfortunately I suffered a strong indigestion after publishing the last chapter and I couldn't write or eat anything for four days. Unfortunate, but I wanted to get the chapter out today anyway. Well, leaving all that aside I want to take this time to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the support you have given me during all this year, believe me it was something that really changed my life. I really hope to dedicate myself to this full time and I am sure that I will achieve it and everything will be thanks to you. And I want to start the new year on the right foot and with more energy than ever, I want to add more content and more Fandoms to my writing and I hope as always to continue counting on your support. Soon I will post a poll for you to let me know what fandom you would like me to write about, I plan to start with Smutty One-Shots before going into a more complex and complete story, but don't worry GOT will always be my main fandom. I wish you a happy new year and I'll see you with a next update, until then.
