Lyanna had her orders; she had been sent by her son and King to inform Ned of his intentions. Daemon wished to reveal his true identity to his family and although she did not fully agree with the idea, she would not go against his wishes. That was why she was now on her way to the Lord's chambers to meet with her brother. Lyanna was almost certain that Ned would not like the idea, but it was no longer up to him. Daemon had fully accepted his identity and was more than willing and eager to take his rightful place as Head of the Targaryen family and the rightful heir to the Iron Throne.
His brother would have no choice but to honour the promise he had made and obey the orders of his new King. Finally arriving at her destination, Lyanna waited for one of the guards guarding the door to pass by and announce her to her brother before she could finally enter. Ned acknowledged her presence and motioned for them to let her in before ordering them to leave them alone. The guard nodded at his orders and gave a final bow before exiting and closing the door behind him.
Lyanna didn't hesitate to walk over to one of the seats in front of Ned's desk and take a seat before her brother pushed aside the papers he was working on and asked her.
"What can I do for you, Lyanna?"
Giving her brother a pleased smile, Lyanna simply said.
"He knows."
It took only a couple of seconds for Ned to tie up the dots and realize what she was referring to. His expression paled at the same moment he abruptly stood up and claimed her.
"Why? Why would you do that, Lyanna?"
"Because it was something that had to be done, Ned. I warned you that I was going to end up confessing the whole truth to him, sooner or later. And honestly, I think I took longer than I should have. But now it's done, and whatever has to happen, will happen."
Resigned at her words, Ned sat back down and asked her.
"How did he react to learning the truth?"
"Much better than I could have expected, he is proud of his heritage and more than willing and ready to take what was taken from him."
Ned let out an indignant snort before reminding his sister, of the consequences of the path Jon is choosing to take.
"You know what that means, don't you? There will be a war, Lyanna. Thousands, possibly tens of thousands will die just to put Jon on the Iron Throne."
"Maybe so, maybe not." Lyanna said mysteriously.
When her son succeeds in hatching his dragon, the balance of power will shift tremendously in Westeros. After all, no one wants to or can face a dragon.
But that would be a matter for the future anyway, she needed to concentrate on the now and her brother. She had to make him comply with her son's wishes.
"If it must be so, so be it, Ned. They will die fighting for their rightful King and besides, I did not come here to discuss possible future war scenarios. I have come to tell you one of Daemon's wishes."
"And what is it that he wishes?" Ned asked wearily as he rubbed his forehead.
"Daemon has lived a false life for years, under a false name, having to be someone he is not. Having to endure the hardships of being treated as a mere bastard when in reality he is a Targaryen prince. Well, he's tired of such treatment. And though he's aware that it would be very unwise and foolish to reveal himself to the whole realm, he thinks he can at least do it to his family." Lyanna explained.
"You can't ask that of me, Lyanna. I can't put that kind of pressure on my wife or children, they don't have to carry these kinds of secrets and besides, a single slip up could be fatal. The truth could come out and all our lives would be in danger." Ned told her flatly.
"Daemon is well aware of the dangers of telling the truth to his family, but he trusts his brothers and even trusts your wife. Despite her many faults, Daemon still considers her an exemplary Lady and that as the Tully she is, she will put family above all things."
Letting out a heavy sigh, Ned said to his sister.
"I don't like any of this, Lyanna. My children shouldn't have to be part of this."
"Hiding the truth from them isn't the solution either, Ned." Lyanna told her brother flatly, growing more and more exhausted from his weary cowardice. "I told you all those years ago that I would not allow my son to live as something he is not. He is a Targaryen prince and as such has every right to make a claim to the Iron Throne and you promised me you would stand by his side when that day came. Well, the day has come Ned, Daemon has decided to take the Iron Throne and as his family, it is your duty to stand by his side, giving advice and putting your men at his disposal. Just as Robb will do when it's his turn, that's why it's best if he knows the truth now, as will Sansa. After all, they will be an important piece in all this."
"What do you mean by that?" Ned asked carefully.
"Daemon is not so foolish to believe that the entire North will stand behind him once he reveals his identity. But perhaps the possibility of a marriage to their Lord's daughter will change their minds, Sansa may be the Northern Queen I could not become." Lyanna told her brother with a pleased smile. But it was obvious from Ned's expression that he didn't seem to like the idea at all, though this time he decided not to voice his complaints aloud and simply rub his face with his hands and mutter loud enough for her to hear.
"She's just a child."
"She won't be a child forever and besides. I'm sure she'll love the idea; Sansa has always been obsessed with southern stories and gallant princes. Once she learns the truth about Daemon, I assure you she will beg you for the chance to marry her own dragon prince." Lyanna said with complete confidence in her words.
"I wouldn't be so sure that Sansa would be thrilled at the idea of marrying her brother." Ned rebutted. To which Lyanna simply dismissed quickly, telling him.
"They are cousins Ned, not brothers. And even if they were, that would be no problem or have you already forgotten my husband's ways? Besides, once they know the truth, no one will ever see Daemon the same way again, no one." Lyanna said before finally standing up and starting to walk towards the door, but she paused one last time and say to her brother before finally leaving. "Gather your family, Ned. Before the day is out, everyone will know Daemon's true identity."

Once she had finished her meeting with Ned, Lyanna returned to her room. Where Daemon still lay, only this time he was no longer naked on her bed, as she would have wished. I wish I could have access to the library at Dragonstone, it would certainly be of more use, if we assume Stannis hasn't already burned all the records the Targaryen’s kept."
"I'm sure you'll end up finding a way to hatch it anyway." Lyanna told him encouragingly.
Nodding at her kind words, Daemon asked her.
"How did your meeting with Lord Stark go?"
"Your suspicions were right; he doesn't like the idea of you telling his family the whole truth at all. But he had no choice and ended up agreeing anyway." Lyanna said, before also mentioning. "I also mentioned to him the idea about your possible marriage to Sansa."
Hearing that part put a smile on Daemon's face, with each passing day Sansa was becoming quite the stunning beauty. And though she was not in his mind to fill the position of being his main wife, she was good enough to serve as his second wife. For just as the conqueror had done, Daemon did not plan to settle for just one woman, he planned to follow in his ancestor's footsteps and take two or possibly more women for himself. And Sansa would be perfect to be one of them, not only would he secure the support of the north by marrying her, but he could also use her to get to his mother, Lady Stark. Daemon couldn't wait to finally get his hands on Catelyn Stark, he would certainly make her 'sweat' if she wanted him to make her daughter one of his Queens.
Although Daemon already had the right woman in mind to be his main wife and Queen. No sooner had he mentioned to his mother the idea of using Sansa as a way to secure the support of the North, than Lyanna had mentioned to him other possible candidates who would make a good match for him. The most important ones she highlighted were the flower of Highgarden, Margaery Tyrell and the princess of Dorne, Arianne Martell. Although she mentioned something very important to keep in mind about Dorne.
"We knew that my marriage to Rhaegar would be much discussed throughout the kingdom, especially in Dorne. And unfortunately, without Elia's support, the southern country could be one of your greatest opponents. That is why an alliance with them could be very fruitful for us in the future."
Though the real surprise, and the most interesting suggestion for him, would come next.
"There is also your aunt Daenerys." Lyanna mentioned, drawing his full attention. "She managed to escape from Dragonstone with her brother, Prince Viserys with the help of Ser Willem Darry. Sadly, not much is known of them or their whereabouts, other than that they had apparently been living as paupers in the cities of Bravos, in the capital they called Viserys as 'the beggar prince'."
Hearing that, Daemon knew what he had to do. He had to seek out and find his aunt, he could not allow a Targaryen princess to live in such conditions, she belonged in Westeros, she belonged with him. Daenerys would be his Queen and together with her, they would take back what was taken from them and make all those who caused their misfortunes pay.
"I wonder how Lord Stark would have reacted if you had told him that my original idea was to take you as my wife." Daemon said to his mother, returning to the conversation of the present.

Interested at his words, Catelyn asked her husband as she took a seat next to her children.
"Exactly what family matters are so important that you have called this meeting, my Lord husband?"
"You will know soon enough, but first. We have to wait for the others to come." Was Ned's mysterious reply.
Squinting her eyebrows in confusion, Catelyn said.
"The others? You only asked me to bring only Robb and Sansa, due to the fact that the rest of the children were too young to know this kind of information."
"I wasn't talking about the children, Catelyn." Was Ned's simple reply before she heard the door open. Letting in Lyanna Stark along with the bastard, who no sooner had he laid eyes on her than he flashed her a cheeky grin that made her bristle. The bastard took a seat on the other side of the table with Lyanna sitting beside him.
"Sorry for the delay, but I think we're all ready now. Shall we get started, brother?" Lyanna was the one who spoke.
Ned nodded and with a deep, heavy sigh, began to speak.
"Before we begin, I would like to tell you that what I am about to reveal to you is very sensitive information, which under no circumstances should be discussed in public or anywhere that anyone else might overhear. For if this information were to become known to the public, all of our lives would be in danger."
Hearing Ned's words, both Catelyn and her children knew that this was something very serious. Though what she did not understand was the reason for the bastard's presence, she could understand Lady Lyanna's being present, but not him. Lyanna was interrupted when Catelyn abruptly stood up and said sounding both furious and pleading.
"This has to be a joke in terrible taste, Ned. Tell me this isn't true, tell me she's lying, tell me you haven't been hiding a Targaryen prince under our roof all this time. Please, Ned, tell me you haven't put our entire family at risk."
"I'm sorry, Cat, but he's my family too." Lord Stark declared, causing Catelyn to cover her mouth with her hand in horror and confirm his sister's words to their children.
Believing there was no better time, Daemon stood up and beginning to walk towards his brothers, finally spoke.
"Lord Stark is right, this changes nothing about our relationship. I still see him as my father and you as my brothers, I will be forever grateful for what he did, not only did he save my life, but he also took me and my mother under his protection. Had he not done so, we would possibly be living in exile right now, but it is because of his selfless actions that I am able to be here. To have grown up alongside my siblings in the same castle my mother grew up in." He put his hands on Robb and Sansa's shoulder before continuing. "But as much as I loved Winterfell, this is not my home, my true home was taken from me and those who were also my brothers were killed. And I cannot simply forget or forgive the people who were responsible for it, it is my right and duty to claim and do justice for what was taken from me and for those who did me wrong."
"Do you plan to take the Iron Throne?" it was Robb who asked him.
"I do and I plan to have the support of the North." Was Daemon's reply.
"This is madness, you cannot simply declare yourself a Targaryen prince and expect everyone to believe you let alone expect or demand that my husband or his bannermen follow you into a senseless war. It would be suicide, everyone knows what happened to the Greyjoy’s when they tried to rebel, one kingdom cannot be at war against all six. You would lead my son and husband to their deaths."
With an unperturbed smile, Daemon walked up to Lady Stark until he stood in front of her and staring into her deep, bright blue eyes, he said.
"You have to have a little faith in your new King, Lady Stark. I am not a Greyjoy, I am a Targaryen, I do not organize failed rebellions, I conquer and take what is mine and I do it with fire and blood."
Catelyn for a moment almost became captivated by his presence and aura again, but fortunately this time she was able to pull herself together quickly and tell him with venom in her voice.
"You are not my King."
"Mother!" Sansa said shocked at her mother's outburst.
"It's alright, I understand it's a lot to take in. But I'm sure in time Lady Stark will see that it's much better to be on the side of the dragons." Was the last thing Daemon managed to say before Catelyn Stark stumbled out of the room, Ned following close behind.
Only seconds later Robb also stood up and stared into his eyes for a long moment, before finally saying.
"You expect me to address you as, ' your Grace' from now on?"
With an amused sneer, Daemon answered him.
"Only on formal occasions."
With a slight grimace of amusement, Robb told him before finally walking away.
"I hope you know what you're doing, Jon."
With only Sansa remaining as the last Stark in the room, his sister rose cautiously before approaching him and saying.
"Jon, I'm sorry, Daemon I..."
"You may call me whatever you wish, Sansa. Though for now I would recommend you stick with 'Jon'."
Nodding prettily at his words, Sansa continued.
"I only wanted to apologize to you for my behaviour."
Before she could continue Jon took her hands in his and said calmly.
"You don't have to say anything, Sansa. There is nothing to forgive."
"But... I was quite cruel to you. I treated you like a mere bastard all these years when you were really a prince."
"And none of that matters now, things are about to change forever and, in the conflicts, to come, I will need all the support I can get. And you will be by my side now, won't you, Sansa?"
His sister did not hesitate to nod frantically towards him, causing a pleased smile to appear on his face. Raising a hand and resting it affectionately on her cheek, he said.
"You know, a King needs a Queen and I can't imagine a better Lady for the job than you. After all, what better way to seal the union between Houses Stark and Targaryen and honestly, just as my father did, I would love to steal the new flower of the North." Jon finished by whispering the last words, causing Sansa to blush deeply. "Wouldn't you like that, dear sister?"
"To be the Queen to a handsome and gallant King is what I have always desired, I promise to be the perfect wife for you, Jon."
Moving his hand from her cheek to her chin and lifting her face to his, Daemon leaned over Sansa and deposited a soft, tender kiss upon her lips. The kiss lasted less than two seconds, but it was enough to leave the redhead completely smitten.
"I will make you Queen, Sansa. Now why don't you go to your mother and tell her about the idea."
Recovering, Sansa nodded excitedly before darting out of the room, surely going to find her mother.
"That went better than I expected." Lyanna declared as she walked over to him and hugged him affectionately. Though she noticed that Daemon didn't seem as delighted as she thought and her words expressed what was troubling her.
"I need to hatch that dragon egg."
Standing in front of him and resting her arms on his shoulders, Lyanna stated with complete confidence in her words.
"You will, my love. And once you succeed there will be no one to stand against you."
Her mother sealed her words with a kiss, one far deeper and more loving than the one he had shared with Sansa. And Daemon did not hesitate to return it as he wrapped his arms around her.
If there was one thing, he was truly grateful for, it was that his mother was by his side. He could not imagine his life without her.

Catelyn will come around, eventually. Probably won’t take her too long. 😂 Ned was actually less of a problem than I anticipated, but maybe that’ll change. The question is whether Robert will still come north, and how that’ll impact things.
