HP: The Heir of Salazar Chapter 45
🕑 Added 2024-03-10 16:48:36 +0000 UTCChapter 45: A Magic to Master
`The magic of Space and Time is beyond the capabilities of normal wizards. But you are a Slytherin, and you have to be able to handle it.`
That was a challenging task, but Sebastian was willing to delve deeper into the magic if it meant reestablishing the Slytherins.
`All that I have learned will be in my book, and all the secrets of the root that I discovered are within these walls.` He read, looking around at the runes carved on the walls.
`You will learn to decipher these runes one day, but until then, they will remain here.` Sebastian read through the last lines.
`Get stronger, get smarter, and get better.`
Something he was trying to do.
`No one but you can enter this place, ever, so do not worry about the safety of the runes. Learn magic and discover on your own what you can find of space and time.` Sebastian read the last line with a slow beating heart.
`May the light of magic guide you, my grandson.` And with that, the tablet turned to dust, leaving no trace of legible literature in the room.
"Every time I hear from you, it's a mess that I have to figure out," Sebastian sighed, leaning against one of the walls. "But I am glad. Without your guidance, I would have been a pawn in someone else’s game."
Most people who talked to him showed him kindness and wanted something from him, and he was glad that he was taught to discern people with greed from people with genuineness.
"As for these," he stared at the walls, rune-covered walls, "I will have to come back."
Not now. He could not afford to get distracted just yet.
He needed to first reestablish his house as one of the strongest, and then he would delve into this.
But something felt off.
For some reason, it felt as if he would need to look into this matter much sooner than he was expecting.
"Overthinking would do nothing," he muttered and looked at the door. "And I need to make up a believable story about the room."
It was not that he was worried Dumbledore might try to get in. His grandfather did say that no one other than him could enter.
But it was the fact that Dumbledore would also use every trick in his book to pester and figure out the contents of the room was going to be annoying.
"He is not evil, but he is no saint either."
He was well aware that Dumbledore was a man who would do anything for things to go his way. He believed in the greater good, which often led to the bad of many.
"Oh, well," the heir took a deep breath. "I have already been through a lot in this little time. I will need a warm shower and a comfortable bed after this."
For now, he wanted to go back and rest. After all, he needed to deal with his lordship issue as well.
"Which is the priority."
…
…
[Sometime later]
[Hogwarts’ Care Wing]
"Oh, you're awake," exclaimed a lady.
Harry, the boy who had faced one of the biggest challenges of his life, woke up sweaty and utterly exhausted.
"Ah?" He was understandably confused.
"Harry!" This time, he recognized the voices of Ron and Hermione – his two best friends.
"Ron… Hermione?" Finally coming to his senses, he realized he was in a hospital bed. No, it was the school nurse’s office.
"You're fine," he heard the same voice that greeted him earlier. "I'll need a full explanation of what you did to exhaust your magical reserves, but for now, you may rest."
He looked at the woman with brown-black eyes and graying hair.
"Madam Pomfrey?" He recalled who she was.
"Glad that you remember me, Mr. Potter," the matron said somewhat sarcastically. "Though I cannot say I am happy to see you again."
It wasn’t that she disliked the boy. She disliked that he ended up in the hospital so often.
"I-I am sorry," Harry lowered his head, embarrassed at being admitted again.
She didn’t dislike him; she disliked that he ended up in the hospital so often.
"Is he… alright, Madam Pomfrey?" Hermione asked, walking closer to them.
"Perfectly so," the matron showed a kind smile, "But he will need rest for an entire day and a lot of orange juice."
"So, can I leave?" Harry asked, almost ready to jump off the bed despite his tiredness.
"No, not so fast," but Madam Pomfrey wasn’t going to let him go that early. "You need to rest tonight, here. And also write an application as to why you ended up in that state."
Harry was horrified to hear this. He just got out of a ridiculous situation, and he was being detained right afterward.
If anything, he wanted to rush to the headmaster to tell him about everything that he and his friends had just gone through.
To talk about the lie that was fed to everyone.
The lie that a certain dark lord was killed by him.
He wanted to get out as soon as he could.
But…
But he didn’t have to.
"She is right," he heard the familiar voice. "You need to rest, Harry."
Ron, Hermione, and even Madam Pomfrey were a little taken aback as they saw the man.
"Professor Dumbledore?" Madame Pomfrey stood upright, "I thought you were going to the ministry."
The man that entered the room was none other than the headmaster, Dumbledore himself.
"They asked for a reschedule," the old man said, "And I am glad for it."
He looked at the boy in the bed, "I hope you are doing better, Harry."
The boy, still not fully mentally healed from the event, nodded. And as he did, he noticed a certain person walking through the door.
"Sebastian!" The boy nearly shouted, looking at the new figure, "Are you okay?"
This brought everyone’s gazes onto the new boy, who gave out a smile.
"I am," he said, "Thanks to you."
All this, however, made the matron very confused.
"I believe I am a little lost here," the madam looked at Dumbledore, "Is it something that I should be aware of, Professor?"
Pomfrey was a very caring individual, someone who was strict but always kept the health of her patients above everything else. This was also why she wanted every little bit of information about the things that led to the injury of their patient – mostly as a way to figure out the best cures and treatments for them.
She even nursed Harry multiple times, especially since the boy was injured often.
The worst she had seen the boy was when his hand was entirely broken from a Quidditch match.
But at this instance, it was not possible for neither Harry nor Dumbledore to tell her about the situation.
"I will explain it to you in a bit, Pomfrey," the professor said, "But… may I talk to the children alone for a bit?"
Pomfrey was amused by this. She wondered what Harry went through that his magic was exhausted and even Dumbledore had to come to check on him.
But she could not deny Dumbledore’s request either.
"Alright…" she said, somewhat hesitant, "But the boy needs rest. So, I hope you will not keep him from resting for a while."
"Of course," Dumbledore assured, letting the woman walk out with an unsure look on her face – leaving him and the students alone.
"Are you alright, Harry?" Sebastian finally asked.
The boy in question rubbed the back of his head, "Yeah. Thanks to you."
Sebastian chuckled a little, “That’s a stretch. You saved us and yourself."
"I heard from Sebastian," Dumbledore said, a frown visible on his face. "That Quirrell attacked you."
Harry nodded, followed by his friends.
"Tell me the details," Dumbledore's frown was deep. "Tell me everything."
He needed the details.
Why?
Because the heir of Salazar had not revealed the truth of Voldemort.
So, it was up to Harry and his friends how they wanted to proceed with it all.
As for the heir of Salazar?
`I should probably meet the creator of this thing,` he mused, playing with the small but precious piece of rock inside his pocket.

[[A/N: Nah, I didn’t skip his and Dumbledore’s chat. It will be shown in next chapter, but we are also going to explore Nicolas Flamel a bit. And then deal with Sebastian’s lordship.]]
