[[Unknown Location]]
Opening her eyes and experiencing a nausea inducing pain in her head, Carol slowly saw the hundreds of silhouettes merging together to form a dozen feminine figures.
Humanoid, for the most part at least.
"A-ah?"
She tried to massage her throbbing temples but was left puzzled when she was unable to.
She was dizzy and not at her fullest thinking capacity.
But she soon realized that she was tied up as the numbness started to wear off.
Her legs and arms were chained to a heavy chair and her neck had a cold metallic collar wrapped around.
"StaU'Au, maoN'O." Carol heard the humanoids speak, and she was finally able to see properly as her vision started to return to normal.
Those 'humanoids' had a similar skeletal structure to humans with four limbs, ten fingers, ten toes and other parts.
However, the differences became prominent when she looked over their neckline and their skins.
"O'Yoll Nardaz." They mumbled, checking Carol's vitals through a scanner.
They talked among themselves all while Carol stared at their blue skin and flat noses.
And above all else, their elongated heads.
'Aliens?' Carol deduced, her heartbeat quickening at the recollection of her kidnapping. Yet, worst of all was the fact that she could not speak out loud.
If she did, she wasn't sure how the aliens would react.
However, to Carol's utmost surprise, one of the aliens noticed this and smiled.
She walked forward and stood right in front of Carol, all while keeping a hand over her throat and adjusting the larynx.
And this was exactly what surprised Carol as the moment the alien took the hand off of her neck, she spoke.
"Can you understand me?"
And she spoke in the most fluent and softest English that Carol had heard in a long while.
"H-How?" It was surprising to the point that Carol subconsciously spoke out.
The alien smiled, "Do not fear us. We are not here to harm you."
Carol was nervous, rightfully so, and thus she asked. "How can I trust you?"
This made the alien lady look at Carol and then at herself.
"Is it the appearance that is troubling you?"
The lady did not wait for Carol to reply as she immediately placed her hand over her own head and swiftly ran it down – changing her appearance in the blink of an eye.
The blueish alienoid that stood in front of Carol changed into a beautiful blonde with the prettiest blue eyes and Carol was stunned by the picture-perfect beauty of the woman in front of her.
"Is this appearance up to your liking?" the now blonde haired alien asked and Carol could only nod as a reply.
"Y-yeah."
For a human who had just recently interacted with superhumans, it was a major jump to immediately shift to aliens. And no one could blame Carol for her uneasiness.
But with enough will power, Carol was able to muster up the courage to finally speak.
"Why did you bring me here?" Carol asked, trying to free herself from the restraints –but of course it was of no use.
"Don't be afraid," The woman said, "We brought you here not to harm you but to help you."
Such a statement never held any good for the listener.
And that had been bearing true for ages.
Realizing that Carol was not going to trust them with the shackles that were placed on her, the woman finally removed them.
Carol felt relieved but despite that she could not run.
"We know everything about you, Carol Ferris." The lady smiled, "But you know nothing about us."
That was true, Carol did not even know what they were.
"Since we are about to make a bond, we shall introduce ourselves."
Hearing the word 'bond', Carol was taken aback. She did not know what the lady meant and neither did she believe that it could be anything good.
"I am Gra'Yace of the Zamarons –a species consisting only of females of the most advanced stage of evolution." The woman said, "We are warriors, creators and destroyers that go around trying to find females who could lead the world that they reside in."
Carol had a very bad feeling about all of this. "Did you…"
Gra'Yace nodded, "Indeed. You are the one that was chosen as the one to lead this world. As someone who will have the support of us, the Zamarons, to guide the people."
Carol was doing her best to understand what the woman meant, but was failing.
"The balance in power is tipping towards a certain direction," The woman continued, "And to prevent that we want you to rise to a level to balance it out."
'Is she… talking about the patriarchy?'
Carol wasn't much of an activist, but from the fact that the aliens were all women and kept repeating the 'female' part, she believed she knew what they were talking about.
"Of course, that power will benefit you." Gra'Yace said, "With it you will be on par if not stronger than most of the superheroes. We do not condemn the usage of the powers for your gain, so unlike the heroes you are free to use the powers to your advantage as well."
This.
This drew Carol in.
"What… are these powers exactly?"
Gra'yace showed a proud smile, "Powers that are almost unfathomable. Imagine… a Green Lantern, but superior."
Carol was at a loss for words, "W-Why me?"
"Because you have been chosen by the Spectrum of Love." Saying this, she lifted her arm which formed strips of colored rays that radiated around.
Green.
"Will power."
Blue.
"Hope."
Indigo.
"Compassion."
Violet.
"Love."
Yellow
"Fear."
Orange.
"Greed."
Red.
"Rage."
Saying this, she paused as two certains rays started to die out.
White and Black.
"Life and Death." She said, "These two are unbound and cannot be wielded. But the rest can be."
Carol was enchanted by the beautiful rays and could hardly focus on Gra'Yace's words.
"Green Lantern's power is fueled by his will power and for us," She smiled as the violet rays fell on them. "It's love."
Carol basked in the warmth of the violet light, loving the feeling of it.
"Not love for someone else, but ourselves." Gra'Yace said, "And you, Carol Ferris, are similar."
"I…" Carol couldn't deny, "I am?"
She loved herself, but she also loved her father greatly.
Self love and familial love.
Two of the greatest loves.
And enough to be accepted by the Spectrum of Emotions.
"You are," Gra'Yace said, "And that's why… we want you to be the guide of Earth. We want you… to be a Star Sapphire."
…
…
Staring at the mirror in front of him, he grabbed the edge of the ceramic basin with his unharmed hand.
A hand that had a certain marking over it.
'Do not move recklessly.'
He heard the voice in his head.
'Do not reveal the marking to anyone.'
The marking was similar to a witch hat which was completely black.
"Klarion…" Oliver mumbled, "Do not harm the innocents. I just want you to help me with Jasper Hughes."
Oliver heard a bone chilling laughter inside his head, 'Do not worry Green Arrow. My target is Jasper Hughes as well, however…'
Oliver felt a sharp pain around his injured hand.
'I do not take kindly to orders. Request you may, but orders you shall pay.'
With that, Klarion's voice vanished as Oliver's damaged arm slowly started to heal again.
Yet, Oliver did not know that the deal he made was not a cheap one.
