DC: The Enchanter Chapter 29

Women of this world were beautiful. That was a given.
But this woman, she was something else.
She wasn't your typical damshell like beauty, rarely any of them were.
But how do I define this?
She was what you call a strong woman, not just physically but her aura as well.
She wasn't very tall, but she was muscular, not enough to repel someone, but enough to attract them.
She had abs better than most men and thighs that most drooled after.
"Haven't been stared like when in a fight," She smiled, "I am glad you like my appearance."
To be fair, she was pretty but I wasn't looking at her just because she was pretty.
"Those are some interesting needles you have hidden there."
Now, most people would keep weapons that are sharp or pointy at very specific places that don't bend much.
But the place where she kept them… Well, let's just say that one wrong move and she would get impaled in the worst possible places.
"You… have quite the observation skill," She sounded impressed as the needles were hidden relatively well with the color scheme and size.
Unfortunately for her…
"Assassins, especially masters of poison are known to be full of surprises, so I just came prepared," As we were exchanging dialogues, the damsel who was supposed to be in danger got fed up.
"Albert! What are you waiting for! Apprehend her!"
The butler surprised me, as he jumped in front with a gun.
I guess, when you are around a millionaire, even the butlers become special.
Unfortunately for him–
"Sweetheart, guns are only good in wars and long ranges."
As Chesire said that, a needle shot out from under her sleeves that went straight inside the butler's neck.
"Albert!"
Poor guy didn't even get to pull the trigger as the needle immediately took his life.
Whether it was the poison or the needle popping multiple arteries, was unknown.
"That's a mess," I said, looking at the blood spilling out of the butler's neck.
Which obviously meant he died of having his arteries severed.
"Are you going to fight?" She asked, curious as to why I didn't attack her yet.
And just as surprised as her was Carol.
"Why! Why are you standing there! Go attack her!" She sounded horrified seeing the death of her butler.
But my reasoning was simple, "I am paid to protect her, not the butler."
This made Carol freeze while Chesire laughed.
"I like that, I like that mentality," But suddenly the air changed, "Unfortunately you chose the wrong person to protect."
Without a second's delay, I saw a leg flying straight towards my neck –which would have cracked my neck it if I didn't enchant my body.
With enough swiftness, I dodged it, before getting met with another strong hit.
Her legs were strong, those thighs weren't just for show.
As the moment I tanked the hit, despite my enhanced physique, I felt my body shake from the impact.
It was a monstrous kick.
"Why are you all standing there?" Carol was astonished by her servants, "Shoot!"
Oh, so they still had guns?
But that was a mistake, as it gave Chesire a reason to target the people around her.
From a contraption built around her chest, she shot out multiple needles that spread towards the front, darting like a barrage of tiny arrows.
Realizing immediately what it was, I had to rush towards Carol.
Enchanting my speed to a greater limit, I grabbed the heiress and pushed her under a seat –allowing the needles to hit the seat instead of the rich lady.
"Is your agility your speciality?" She asked, amused by my ability to dodge the needles while most of the people around us lay lead.
Most pierced to death while the others poisoned.
"W-What!"
Carol was horrified by the display, having to watch all her people die without a chance to defend.
"W-Why?"
She was confused why so many people died.
"She seems broken~" Chesire commented, watching the shuddering Carol.
The girl might have seen people die, but it was definitely her first time watching so many people die in such gruesome ways.
"Focus."
Saying that, I threw a kick of my own towards her, surprising her a little.
But she was a tank.
She took the hit like it was nothing.
"Your speed and your strength do not match," She sounded amused, "But not everyone is an all rounder–"
I immediately withdrew my leg, as I saw the small needle making its way towards it.
"Sharp," She smiled, "But how long will you dodge!"
And this time, she was serious.
Kick after kick, and needle after needle shot at me and if not for my speed and instinct, I would have been dead.
But as we fought, there was something that drew my attention.
Something that made me curious.
"Why do you wear clothes when I can almost see through them?" I asked, as she flashed herself with a kick, "Not that I am complaining."
Followed by another kick, she surprisingly answered, "Most people are not able to see that underneath and those that do are always dead."
"Makes sense."
Her kicks were monstrous, as the kick that landed on a seat uprooted it entirely before getting it thrown multiple feet away from us.
This impact slowed her down, allowing me to land a clean punch on her jaw with my enhanced strength.
"Ugh! That hurt…"
"I heard you were Vietnamese?" I asked, as she fixed her jaw, "You are quite tall for a Vietnamese."
She was over 5 feet 7, whereas I believe an average Vietnamese woman was around five.
"You aren't that normal either now, are you?" She asked, "You definitely did not have the strength a second ago to almost dislocate my jaw… Were you hiding your strength?"
"Maybe~"
This little statement made her pissed though.
"That… I cannot accept."
And this was when things took a turn.
The kicks that I was thinking were strong were nothing compared to the ones that were flying at me now.
One hit and I was more than dead.
A near perfect hit almost blew my jaw out, thankfully I was able to dodge it.
Not unscathed though.
As the air current alone grazed my cheeks, making it drip blood.
This surprised me.
As after coming here, this was the first time I was bleeding.
Given I was using none of my powers other than body enhancement, I was still bleeding.
This…
This felt… good?
"What…" Chesire frowned as she looked at me, "You are… smiling?"
Smiling?
I turned my head to look at the mirror glass, and indeed I had a weird smile plastered across my face.
Why?
Why was I smiling when I nearly died?
When I was bleeding?
The answer was simple.
It was because I haven't had this much fun, this feeling of danger in a while.
The memories of days when I fought against the gangsters with nothing but my fists were resurfacing.
The time before I started using my manipulations more as compared to my fists.
Yeah…
It was the thrill.
The thrill I had almost lost.
One of the very reasons I wanted to not go back to this personality.
I was crazy.
Battle hungry.
Borderline psychotic.
Yeah…
"I am enjoying this!" I grinned, making her frown and take a step back.
But just then, I saw something flying at me –barely enough to dodge.
"I did not expect you to take so long, Cheshire."
That's when I saw her.
The women way above Chesire.
The woman… who if was a part of my world, would have ruled the underworld with her eyes closed.
The woman strong enough to carry three corpses with one hand.
The strongest female assassin.
"Lady Shiva…"

[[A/N: A glimpse of what MC was like in the past, in his prime, just a glimpse. He was something much worse, something much more feral and untamed.
And that's all for the mass release, from now it it will stay 25 chapters ahead of WN, so WN readers have a lot to catch up to.
As for smut, this one will have smut but not as often. The first smut was a one night stand so it was early. As for rest, the relationship will develop a little before the smut, I hope that it is fine.]]
