DC: The Enchanter Chapter 18

After using my powers for a while, I learnt that I can give any property to anything. As long as I believe it is possible.
And it was also the reason why such a phenomenal display was taking place in front of everyone.
The solid concrete below Green Arrow turned to liquid as it started to crawl over him like a snake, wrapping itself around him.
It was because I enchanted the floor to have the properties of a superfluid, and superfluids are capable of defying the general principles of gravity.
The moment it wrapped itself around Green Arrow, I changed it into High Carbon Steel that made it impossible for him to move.
"Continuing further might not be the best choice for you all."
With that declaration, I reduced Green Arrow's weight to the point that I was able to pick him up by his head like a ragdoll, surprising everyone.
Seeing Superboy prepare his heat vision and Kid Flash ready to rush at me, I lifted Green Arrow and pointed him towards the heat vision's direction.
"You still want to continue?"
This made everyone take a step back, while the villains were amazed by the display.
Especially Killer Croc who started to laugh like a maniac.
"He truly exceeded our expectations!" The big ol' crocodile laughed, "Just as Penguin said! He is special!"
Feeling the humiliation from the disrespect, Arrow gritted his teeth, "Jasper Hughes… I will remember your name."
This made me raise an eyebrow, "Aren't you supposed to be a hero? What's with the villainous dialogue?"
But I knew that it was best to leave before the big League arrived.
And Slade had the same thought.
"Let us move and no one has to get hurt," He said, "Or make a move and Green Arrow loses his head."
It was interesting how Slade was making himself look like the big boss when I was the one with Arrow at my mercy.
I could just let Slade get fucked by the league, but it would cause too much unnecessary drama.
Allowing him to do the talking, I looked for ways to escape without being followed.
And there was one.
Back to the sewers we go I guess?
Signaling Slade to follow, we made our way down.
Applying the same principle of superfluid, I was able to craft a slide that prevented us from falling down.
And with the perfect coordination, we grouped together, making sure to keep the files as close to us as possible.
"Well then folks," With a smile, I said, "Adios Amigos~"
Throwing Nightwing and Arrow towards the heroes like ragdolls, the ground below us swallowed us whole before turning back solid.
This caused everyone to be stunned, but for me, it was merely a bit of calculations as right under us was the sewage system.
And with that, it was a mission well done.
…
…
I will be honest.
Slade was skilled and his mind games were on point.
However, I did not like him. Especially after the stunt he pulled acting like he was the one responsible for the mission's success.
"You exceeded my expectations, Jasper," Bane said and I knew that Bane was one of the more respectable villains.
"Although I would prefer it if you would act a bit early," Deadshot scoffed, most certainly annoyed by the little stunt I pulled with him.
This almost made me chuckle, but I kept it in, "I apologize for that."
As the five of us sat in Penguin's office for over ten minutes, we finally heard the squeaking noise that was basically Penguin walking.
"Ah, I couldn't have expected anything less from you all!" The moment he entered, his face seemed extremely blissful, "To even take down the Young Justice and the Green Arrow, I cannot express bow amazed I am."
Even before Slade could twist the story, Croc muttered, "This youngling over here is single handley responsible for dealing with them all."
Bane agreed, "If not for him, the matter would have dragged on for far longer."
Despite Deadshot being pissed at me, he still praised my skills, "He did play the biggest role in this mission's success."
And Slade was smart, he knew that if he didn't agree, he would get the bad light.
"The kid is skilled," He said, "His skills were indeed exceptional."
Look at him praising me, quite the tear jerking performance.
"Excellent!" The fat man exclaimed, "I knew my eyes didn't lie when I met you!"
Well, Penguin was good at gathering talents. That was a fact.
With the greatest of the excitement, he looked around, "May I have the documents?"
Slade nodded before passing on the files to the crime boss.
I could almost see Penguin drooling at the sight of the documents.
Without wasting a second, he went through the pages one after the other. And with each page that he flipped, I could see his smile growing larger.
How is it possible to extend your face that much?
"Good! Good! It's all in here!" With the widest grin on his face, he explained.
"This is enough proof for me to end my competition. The other party had a lot of casinos, wineries, pubs and even a few market chains," Penguin continued, "But with this, I will be able to swallow their entire empire."
He seemed beyond ecstatic, "You have no idea how great it is for the business. My reach will extend to far beyond Gotham with this. Queens, Metropolis and even beyond the States."
Looks like he hit the jackpot.
"And it definitely wouldn't have been possible without your skills," He said, "So, I hope you will work with me again in the future. After all, I hope our deal wasn't a one time thing."
Almost all the villains looked at one another, before Bane decided to speak.
"If every single contract does not go beyond the level of difficulty that you informed us about, we might consider taking you on more offers," He said.
"This mission was far beyond what we were told," Deadshot said, "If not for Jasper, we might have been in quite a bit of trouble."
"Of course!" Penguin expressed, "I apologize for undermining the Justice League's abilities. But do not worry, I will make sure that this does not happen again."
He sighed, "And to make up for mishap on my behalf, I have raised the reward by another hundred percent."
This made me raise an eyebrow, I accepted the job without asking about the pay as he told me it will be worth my time.
And considering it is Penguin, he will not shy down on the pay, I was certain about that.
"So, I hope this is enough to make up for the trouble."
Saying this, this passed us five cheques.
And without a second thought, each of us picked them up.
But the moment, I went through the amount, I felt myself losing my breath.
It was a two…
Followed by… Six zeroes!!!
But Penguin wasn't done.
"And since Jasper is new in this work and still managed to be the key player in the mission, here is a bonus for you."
With that, he passed another cheque and while I expected it to be a decent amount, I almost choked when I saw it was exactly half of the amount of the first cheque.
A fucking million dollars.
This fatso just gave me three million dollars for stealing a few papers!
With a massive grin on my face, I said, "I would love working with you again, Oswald."
Who wouldn't if each pay was in the millions?
