First of all, I apologize for the late date of this posting. The Real World has been kicking me in the teeth a bit lately, which has effectively drawn my attention away from game development. To their credit, the rest of the dev team has been working pretty much nonstop on the other aspects of the game, and progress is being made. They are champions, these guys. I can’t wait for you to experience the game environment they are creating.
So, there are a number of new things to report on, so I’ll dive right in. First of all I need to mention the departure of Rich as our programmer and coder, an unexpected event but we sincerely wish him all the very best. Since his departure, we have been exceptionally fortunate to attract the skills and knowledge that Riam Mar possesses. His is a name that many people in the AVN community are quite familiar with already. Some of his ideas and solutions simply blow our minds. You’re gonna love the stylistic changes he is planning to improve upon the previous player interface. We welcome him aboard the team."
Secondly, I wanted to drop in that this post was delayed because the apartment next to mine had a fire last week while I was out and about, which spread to my apartment, rendering me effectively without a place to stay. Thankfully, no one was injured, but the contents were trashed by fire, smoke, and water. It’s a pretty sobering experience.
That said, I am a lot better off than Billy Hazlitt (whose quote about enjoyment and endurance is featured above). While a fairly brilliant art critic and essayist, the guy ended his days penniless, leaving in his wake two bitter divorces and a doomed love affair. His friends all deserted him. Rumor has it that after he shuffled off this mortal coil, his landlady [an actual landlady, not what we call mothers in lewd game parlance] stuffed his body under the bed while trying to rent out the recently vacated rooms.
The guy’s reported last words were, “Well, I've had a happy life.”
So, who am I to complain about a little property-destroying fire?
But then, I have something that Old Bill didn’t have - friends. Thanks to some help from a few really stand-up folks, I’m safely ensconced in a new, furnished apartment. Renter’s Insurance, while mostly a scam, will prove to be pretty helpful here.
And so, it begins anew. By that, I mean, my journey of pointless consumerism in the accumulation of goods that won’t follow me into the Afterlife. Perhaps its worth it. We shall see.
The game, however, progress towards an update release and has been ongoing in my short absence.
I am not sure that everyone here keeps up with the Discord server polls, so I would summarize each as follows.
Our first poll, back in January, indicated that most of the members there (which included supporters and regular members alike) were asked what kinks they appreciated, the results were of follows:
Exhibitionism/voyeurism (16%), followed by group sex (13%), then oral sex (12%). For the advanced likes, top was violence (28%), then drugs/alcohol/smoking and bad language (both 20%). When asked about breast size, "a handful" was the top choice, at (42%), "big" was next (28%) and "small" landed in third position at (24%)
Our second poll in March first addressed the types of women/partners the player most appreciated. By almost twice as much as any other choice, the polled noted their desire for the LI (Love Interests) who required a bit of work to win over. Also popular were the more aggressive approaches where - alternatively - either the MC or the LI’s make the first move. The poll also found that while most players didn’t really care about the MC’s appearance, they still wanted a minimum of choices in what that appearance would be. Lastly, it was determined that those participating in the poll would be playing the game via PC. That said, if you play the game via MacOS or APK, we will be taking steps to have a game playable in those formats.
The third poll, opened in May, addressed the choices that players of the previous game had made in the course of play. Overwhelmingly, the players had taken Kelly along with them in the travel to Dewberry, followed by Marika and finally, everyone’s favorite sociopath, Genni. As well, most of the players had taken the same person with them when leaving Dewberry for Brexton. We then asked who everyone’s favorite characters were. As expected, Elly was the clear winner by almost three to one. We also asked about more vanilla kinks, like food and feathers, etc. The polls indicate that Role-Play, followed closely by both Leather and Humiliation Play were top choices.
We’ll probably have another poll next month, but you all should feel free to suggest poll questions - or just ask questions, really - of us. The polls help us confirm that the development direction is in keeping with what you folks are looking for, and suggest new ideas that perhaps we hadn’t considered. We want to make the game for you - our supporters - as well as for our own personal edification and sense of accomplishment.
