Life update

Currently we've all be struggling with the algorithms of social media and it's been difficult to keep up and stay motivated and promote yourself for free so to speak. Instagram wants us to pay the maximum amount to promote us to bigger audience but we are not brands, we don't have so much money to do so. Also it's kinda demotivating because we look for the problem in ourselves. "Am I doing worse? Is it a bad quality content? Are people tired of this sort of thing?" But it's a mass problem.
So there are platforms where video content is appreciated more, but what about the photo content? Where should we promote ourselves and share beautiful photos for free with the audience?
On another note this month has been so busy and now I know to NOT take commissions for costumes just before a major event T_T I wanted to make my Triss dress for this event but I have to bring something bought this time and not made. Kinda feel odd about it because I prefer to make my costumes when I can. And it also means I can't compete automatically. But my biggest concern is that I've been sick for months and I finally have a clue what the problem is. It's treatable but it's hard. And hopefully soon I'll be able to resolve this problem and get back to my normal self. In that line of thought I've been feeling cautious of the costumes I would wear because I gained a bit of weight during these times, I had no movement, because I simply couldn't do any sort of physical activity, I had to eat certain foods that led to weight gain. But people don't usually know what's happening behind curtains and will talk.
So I've been wandering if I should take this costume of Zelda or the more covered one? The dress is so pretty tho T_T But because I've worked out a lot before, when I gain weight, my arms look even bigger xD I'm fully transparent with you here. Also who makes summer events a thing? It's so hot in a costume and wig..

Don't let Instagram & Co. get you down, always think positive Ezy, there is always a silver lining on the horizon! And it's not a bad thing that you've gained a little weight, I like women who have something on their hips! Curvy women are the prettiest and sexiest women in my eyes! You are one of my favorite cosplayers. And as I said, think positive, if that doesn't work, get your husband to help you think positive again. Long posts are never a bad thing, and when it's information you're happy to share I'd view it as a positive feature of following you on Patreon. They also inspire long comments, so apologies for this. Firstly it's great to hear that you have an idea what's caused your recent sickness. "Focus on your health first" is easy to say and more difficult to do when there's work to be done and bills to pay, but as someone who has previously dropped dead without warning and is only alive now due to the most unlikely miracles of medical care, I can confidently say that none of the rest matters if you don't take care of yourself. It's really frustrating to hear about the social media problems you're having and I don't think there's a good, simple answer (otherwise I'm sure you would have found it already). My solution has always been to post across as many networks as possible for the least effort. For example, a post I'd write on Twitter could go on Mastodon and Bluesky with no changes, so it's probably worth doing. Those aren't big networks, but they may grow, and a smaller network means people are more likely to see your post, right? I'm far less knowledgeable about social media than you, but I know that if I never get any benefit from BlueSky I've not spent much effort to be there either. Clearly you put a lot of effort into your posts, but perhaps you could cover more networks without taking much more time? As someone who has been a professional web designer, I'm a big fan of having your own website and channelling your social media there. Will it replace any social media? No. But you do have absolute control over it and what people see there. you can also use it to sell your products at a much lower fee than Etsy, Patreon etc. I'm more than happy to help you get something set up so there won't be much cost to it, but there is the time of uploading your pictures, content, etc. But when you promote yourself on your website then you are promoting yourself in a place you know people can always come and see what you want them to see. Finally (if you're still reading), I'd go with the dress rather than the other outfit. I liked both and was on the fence, but having seen those promotional pictures, the dress really is lovely. I'm also looking closely at your arms and I can't see 'bigness'; I'm not discounting your own perceptions of course, just to say that you look great in the dress and only the most critical person (i.e. probably youself) will see anything negative at all. I hope my opinion helps a little.
