26. HUNTER - Vivid Shadows 2024
🕑 Added 2024-10-25 15:48:01 +0000 UTCI hold you close. As you spasm and retch, as your bones creak and reconfigure, as the fog from your ragged breath runs hot over my skin. I rock you back and forth, while the tainted blood churns in your chest, while it reshapes you into the very thing we used to hunt.
When the Church saw the signs, they sent me after you. I thought it cruel, at first. But if I was the one changing, I suppose I’d want you to be the one who found me.
It matters not. I feel it in my chest, too. The blood calls, and we all must answer in time. Whatever we become, my dear, the two of us will be together.
We are born of the blood, made men by the blood, undone by the blood.
Our eyes are yet to open.
Fear the old blood.
