It's admittedly been a bit tough as of late.
July was a wonderful month spent with family on the west coast (socially distanced and all precautions taken), and early August saw me officially adopt Penelope which has been the highlight of COVID as a whole - she saves me every day and gives me a reason to get out of bed. But something has been very 'off' that I hadn't taken very seriously - I injured my back in the springtime when Penelope was new around here and lunged across the street, pulling my back completely out of whack. I have had a dull ache in my lower back/hip area that became more of a dull roar and exploded into constant pain at the beginning of August. I've been seeing a chiropractor 3x weekly for the past five weeks and am honestly always in pain. I try not to take painkillers because I don't want to dull sensations so that I can take care not to further injure myself... but this also means that I can't ever get comfortable. Not sitting, not standing, not lying down. Many times I have wanted to just relent and cry, but I have spent my time with worse activities - mostly just worrying and beating myself up for not getting things I need to do, done. Like Patreon. Like taxes. Like laundry and grocery shopping. These things all require me to either be motionless at a computer or to be moving a lot... and both REALLY hurt. I can't get past it, which means I am really struggling financially too. I've had x-rays and nothing is broken, thankfully, but this also means that people aren't taking me seriously. Even my chiro isn't focussing on where the pain is but is rather intrigued with fixing my (granted) messed up neck.
I'm tired and sore and sad. But I have CBD in the mail for my back and an RMT appointment this week... fingers crossed.
My laptop died in the middle of my first remote shoot, which has made content creation all the more difficult as I am now relegated only to my office space. Thankfully, though, this is the only room in the house that is 100% complete now, so at least I have that, haha! So *thank goodness*, I do have a little bit of brand new content I can share now! It hurts my heart to only have images from 6 months ago to share otherwise... silly COVID.
Anyway, I am always looking for new ways to bring you content. Always always. Ways to maximize the quality and quantity and find new ways to brighten your days... Let's see what I can figure out. If you have suggestions, comment below. I LOVE public engagement and could really use some positivity 'round here right about now, haha.
Stay safe out there.
