After a lot of waiting in queues, I'm in contact with a ton of artists right now getting various pieces going, but it was getting a little nerve-wracking getting this close to the planned release date without any of them actually finishing. Luckily, atryl came through for me, and now we have this lovely piece to serve as a sharp contrast to the other going into this update!
This one did come with a few challenges, mainly from the fact Lith is supposed to be face down here, but the vertical artspace makes a lot of things like that difficult. We finally settled on this as a "from below" shot, and I'm hoping that comes through okay, though technically the lighting in this room kinda sorta contradicts the implications the artist was going for in the art here... Getting art to match the game is a series of challenges and compromises with the artist, and while it's been great to get art for so many of the game's scenes, I kinda hope that in future projects I'll be able to get the art done first, and work around that rather than the other way around. I don't know what it's like to commission art without giving the artist a hard time over countless little details, but it sounds nice.
