A Simple Change of Mind - Chapter 2

He checked his bedside watch for the time and saw it was July 31st, his birthday. A wide smile spread across his face; he was now 18 years old and legally an adult in the magical world.
He then went outside to the balcony to take a deep breath of fresh morning air. As he stands there, overlooking the beautiful view of Plovdiv, Harry's mind begins to wander back to the events of the previous month.
It has been one month since Sirius brought him here for their vacation, and he can confidently say it has been the best month of his life. Because of Dursley, Harry has never had a vacation in his life, and when Sirius found out about it, Harry had to hold him or else he would have gone to kill them.
But, since then, Sirius has done his best to overcome this by tacking him everywhere in Bulgaria, which felt like a dream come true for Harry.
With their ancient architecture, vibrant culture, and friendly locals, the country and its cities were everything he had imagined and more. Every day was filled with new experiences in both worlds, from exploring Roman ruins and magical sites to trying traditional Bulgarian cuisine.
Harry could not help but be grateful to Sirius, who had become not only his godfather but also his best friend.
Touring was not the only thing Harry has done; the day after they arrived, Sirius told him he could use his wand in this house without fear of a ministry letter because of the wards around the house, and he had taken this opportunity to practise his spells and improve his magical skills.
With the help of the library on the 2nd floor of the villa, Harry has massively expanded his spell repertoire with both attacking and defensive spells, and with Sirius's guidance, he has improved his duelling techniques.
