So happy to hear this. It's still an alright idea to use a cloud-based backup, but you absolutely should have a physical one in addition. The cloud one is good in the event of the physical being damaged or inaccessible. The third layer that's recommended for really major stuff is an additional off-site physical backup, but that's usually extreme for normal people.

I’m very relieved to hear; it’s frustrating that these cloud companies can afford to be so opaque about their policies. There really should be legal protections for end users from shit like this barring extreme edge cases...

Yeah... it's kind of concerning The part that sucks is that I can't confirm or deny what caused it for other people who are worried about a similar fate, so I probably caused some unease

I'm so glad you got your account back!!!! That was ridiculous, but at least it is over. Have you thought about getting an external hard drive to put your stuff on? To keep everything safer at least.
