Oct 2022 Prompt: A Costume Change

Dylan cursed as he searched through the hampers in the store for a costume. The slim man knew about his apartment's Halloween party for weeks now and as always he’s left the costume for the last second. After five different Halloween stores being either sold out or leaving behind what can only be described as inappropriate costumes to wear, Dylan found his last hope in a discount hamper in a small Halloween pop-up store.
Searching through the pile of clothing to try and make some amalgamate of a costume, Dylan came across a baseball hat and a football jersey. knowing he had a pair of shorts back home, Dylan figured he could be a football fan or maybe even a stereotypical frat bro. Pulling out the jersey and cap, Dylan walked up to the counter and paid for the clothes, leaving the store the young man didn’t see the label on the crate saying they were ‘cursed’.

“Hey Dylan, cool costume.”
“Thanks.” Dylan smiled, shaking hands with the skeleton-dressed man that was his neighbour Carl. Walking past him, Dylan took in the relatively small apartment the party was in, recognising a few of his other neighbours and friends moving around to have drinks and mingle. “Wanted something unique.”
“You mean you waited for the last minute again?” Carl chuckled behind his skull mask, closing the door behind him as he turned to take in Dylan’s look.”So what are you? A Football player?”
“Nah man, I’m a football fan. Just get me a drink whilst I watch my game.” Dylan said, laughing with his friend as he made his joke. “But yeah, it was a bit of a last-second costume. Still works though.”
“Yeah, of course, you might have to get a larger jersey next time. Unless you want to be a dad bod football fan.” Carl said, patting Dylan’s bump of a belly that peaked against his jersey. Dylan himself found himself looking down at his stomach in confusion, swearing that it wasn’t that full-looking when he put on the jersey just a few minutes ago. Figuring maybe he was bloated from some food, Dylan shared a laugh with Carl before going off to get a drink for himself.
Trying to get himself relaxed as he mingled around the apartment, Dylan wandered around, taking in the party games going on. These ranged from the simple and classic like bobbing for apples to the more adult and not on theme, like the beer pong competition that seemed to be set up in the kitchen. Deciding maybe that will help him relax a bit, Dylan made his way to the table, muttering apologies as he bumped into a few people, finding himself feeling sluggish and heavy in his movements. Getting through the crowd, Dylan felt himself calm down a bit at no longer being pressed up against others, he approached the table and joined in the game.
“Great costume Dylan, though is the stuffed shirt really necessary?” Lucas, a neighbour and now dressed as a wizard, commented as he and Dylan took their position on one side of the table, across from them a pirate and evil clown were lining up their own shots.
“Thanks… wait, what do you mean stuffed shirt?” Dylan blinked at the comment, glancing to prepare his throw of the ping pong ball as the pirate opponent missed his shot.
“Dude, I know you’re not exactly a twink. But that gut and chest is clearly fake.” Lucas laughed, cheering when Dylan made the shot, forcing the pirate dressed guest to drink. As the man took a drink, Lucas reached over to poke at Dylan’s chest, only instead of the fluff of a pillow, his finger pressed into warm, soft flesh. “T-The Hell? Dude, have you been pigging out?”
“Oi, no I haven’t!” Dylan said, blushing deeply at the sudden touch. Though the jersey wearing man looked down at his own body. Now that he was paying attention, Dylan noticed how his slim body had grown out. The loose jersey had now tightened up around him, his chest jiggled a bit in two mounds from where Lucas had poked at, further down was a more ball gut shaped gut, pushing out against the front of the shirt. Glancing down his side, Dylan took in the sight of his thickened arms, seeming a mix of fat and muscle that made him wonder if he’s been working his arms. Further down, he took in how his growing tights stretched against the tight black shorts he had gotten for the costume. Facing the evidence of his apparent growth, Dylan blinked as he wondered if he’s always been this big. “I mean, I thought I didn’t.”
“Well, you’d better consider working on losing it soon. Otherwise you’re gonna really blimp out when Thanksgiving and Christmas hits.” Lucas said with a chuckle, figuring his friend just didn’t notice the weight of adulthood. “Hey, it’s your turn.”
“Oh yeah.” With that, trying to put aside his seeming rapid growth, Dylan got to work joining Lucas in the game. The two men made progress, though each having to take a few drinks as the ping pong ball landed in their drinks. With the night going on and Dylan drinking more and more of the beer, the growing man was unaware of how much he was growing, neither did the rest of the party since people barely paid much attention to Dylan. And those that did just figured they had too much to drink. Alas, the blissful ignorance was broken when with a deep belch coming up from Dylan, a loud tearing sound was heard from the large man.
“W- Holy Shit Dylan!” Lucas turned to the source of the sound, finally taking in what became of his friend and neighbour. The rest of the party was drawn in by the exclamation, stunned with what they saw.
Dylan himself seemed to have more than doubled in weight since coming to the party. His broad back and belly stretching out the jersey he was wearing, the numbers warped across the front. His hefty moobs swollen out to a point they rivalled most women's chest in their size, forcing up Dylan’s arms at an angle with the jersey struggling to contain them. His fat face and blubber pack neck straining the neck hole of the jersey, his chins covering over them as his blubber packed biceps strained the sleeves. Dylan blushed as everyone looked to the source of the offending sound that drew everyone’s attention, glancing behind him to see his ample, cushion sized ass cheeks exposed as the black shorts tore across, leaving his rear exposed. The massive man blushed at the apparent wardrobe malfunction, but then his stomach growled deeply, his mind overridden with hunger.
With the steadily fattening Dylan waddling over to get more food, effortlessly knocking others aside, people whispered behind him, taking the sight of his broadening back and growing rear.
“I’m surprised he wore a jockstrap.”
“Better than commando I guess.”
