Final month of the year plans
🕑 Added 2022-12-01 07:12:16 +0000 UTCGood morning everyone. First off, I apologize for no Thanksgiving post. Last week was spent with my family and under some stressful matters. I try not to use this as a personal space type blog to vent my frustrations about life. I learned a long time ago that it's best to take those awful experiences and try to flip them into something good. For the longest time, I have been able to take stresses in my life; whether it be health problems or other matters and manage to use writing as an escape away from those problems.
The holiday period of the year is rarely fun for me. I wish I had thought beforehand that I would be stuck last week with my family and some days where my mind simply went blank and I was unable to write. I had a chance over the weekend but didn't write much due to being burned out.
Since Monday I have been back on the grind. I know I owe stories for people here, and I will get to them before New Years. I appreciate everyone for your help and contributions. I would most likely not be writing anymore if not for Patreon support. All of you subscribing here have helped me greatly with paying medical bills and being able to afford my medications. Before I opened Patreon, I really struggled staying ahead with my heart and blood pressure meds. I still have my bad days, but that is going to happen due to the condition. I am much more stable than I was one year ago.
I should have got on here and posted something on Thanksgiving to express how grateful I am to everyone here. But I spent that day being stressed out around people I don't spend much time with and others I tend to avoid. If you're someone who has issues with relatives and keep a distance from them, I feel your pain. The worst part is feeling alone this time of the year and I've been there before too.
This past week has been a reminder why I enjoy writing so much. Writing is my mental escape from problems in real life. One of my goals as a writer is to try and give that same experience to readers. People get lost in books for the same reason. A great many of my stories from years ago were written under stressful circumstances and some even through a battle of depression. I have recently found inspiration through an album by Skip Spence called Oar. This song in particular 'War In Peace' is beautiful. It might be too raw and folky for some people, but Skip made quite an impression with people all while his mental health was declining. I can only hope one day my writing can have an effect on people like some of my favorite music has.
I'm ready to work on the stuff I owe and try to bring some joy to everyone before the holiday season is over.
