🕑 Added 2025-12-29 14:00:12 +0000 UTCLeft to their own devices, the other members of Mystery Inc. set off to look for the 'Creepy Keeper', while Shaggy and Scooby wander around the old, abandoned lighthouse. Not so much looking for clues, the pair is doing what they do best...looking for something to feed their faces with.
Shaggy: Man, there's gotta be a kitchen around here somewhere, Scoob.
Scooby: Rah, I'm framished.
Shaggy: Two, whole dog biscuits... Was she, like, kidding? I'm practically wasting away here, man.
Shaggy turns to the Great Dane with a lecherous grin, recalling how they'd managed to get a little peep show out of Daphne only hours before. Just a few more minutes, and they probably would've gotten to see the full monty.
Shaggy: But, dude... Getting a glimpse of those knockers...totally worth a little starvation.
Scooby, a paw at this mouth, snickers in agreement.
Scooby: Row-tally rurth it.
Floor boards creaking beneath their feet, the duo trundle on. Rounding a corner and down the hall, they finally see what they've been looking for. In true nautical fashion, the sign above the door says 'mess', the seafaring term for a kitchen. Shag and Scooby break into a run, both of their tongues lolling at the thought of what potential sustenance lies beyond. Straight into the pantry, their hopes are dashed at the sight of empty shelves. Only a few half-empty condiments can be found in the old-fashioned icebox, all disgusting-looking and years beyond their expiration date.
The pair only has a moment to be heartbroken by the apparent lack of vittles, when a groaning sound echoes through the lighthouse. The hair on Scooby's back stands on end, Shaggy suddenly wide-eyed with alarm as the two scaredy cats listen to the noise.
Shaggy: Dude! P-please tell me th-that was your s-stomach growling!
Scooby: Uh-uhhh! 'Rope!
The low groan becomes an out-and-out wail, Shag and Scooby instantly hugging the other in sheer terror.
Shaggy: It's a... It's a... Guh-guh-guh...
Scooby: G-g-ghost!
High up in the lighthouse's lamp room, Daphne lets out a howl of delight. Naked, save for her trademark hairband and green scarf, she scissor-grinds her mound against the outed 'lighthouse keepers ghost'. In reality, its just a local businesswoman trying to scare off her shipping vessel rivals...the unmasked perpetrator practically in tears as she and the do-gooder twist and contort beneath the spinning lamp.
Daphne, having discovered long ago that instead of coming up with some concocted scheme to lure a would-be ghost, werewolf, or even the occasional evil clown into a trap, it's far easier to draw out the usual rubber-maskers with a little 'candy'.
The single wail turns into a distinctly different-sounding -pair- of shrieks, the sound reverberating through the giant stone cylinder. Scooby jumps into Shaggy's arms, the duo now utterly freaked out by whatever is haunting the old, derelict beacon.
