He looks amazing (Scorpion King), right?! I just love how CWN is a man of honor and integrity! And he and GX coming to terms with each other is so great - COMMUNICATION! We love to see it! 😀 WKX with the red eyeliner looks sooooo good! And yeah, it feels like SO LONG ago when Episode 1 was dropping, to show the growth between them. That is so great about the color “fading” but remaining! Ahhhh! Love that! HAHAHA, MDZS has ruined swords for me, so blame MXTX! 😛Also, it DEFINITELY felt like Prince Jin having a “moment” to have ZZS for himself. Ew. I love how ZZS took the wine offered and offered it back…to his fallen brothers, instead. Legendary. But yeah, PJ and ZJ, our toxic would-be lovers for ZZS and the SK. I’m glad they both are pushing back against their emotional and sexual abusers in this series! The show handles these moments sooooo well! To be fair, I would have fallen for Malicious’s BBQ trap! 😛And oohhhhh, ZJ’s glare at SK, indeed. These two just own any scene they appear in! UGH, that torture scene at the end is so cruel! Damn… that opening shot of the Scorpion King was so good. I love that they gave us time to really take him in from every angle—he’s just flawless. Gu Xiang and Cao Wei Ning finally have the talk. Poor Cao Wei Ning is so torn, but even after Gu Xiang admits the truth, he’s like, ‘Nope, Wen Kexing must have his reasons.’ That boy’s loyalty is ironclad. And then his whole “if you were really a spy, I’d kill you and then myself” line? So tragic, but also so very in tune with the old school chivalric codes we’ve been seeing since episode 1—this whole idea of dying with honor rather than living with betrayal. Gu Xiang finally opens up—her past, Wen Kexing’s history—and it doesn’t make her weaker, just more human. It’s a huge show of trust in Cao Wei Ning. I love that Cao Wei Ning’s logic is basically: ‘Wen Kexing can’t be bad—he hangs out with Zhou Zi Shu (an ex–top assassin!) and Cheng Ling.’ Like… sir, that is not the airtight argument you think it is, haha! And yeah, that tilted camera shot they used here—it being the same style they used for Ghost Valley! Such a clever callback, visually tying Gu Xiang back to her roots. Throwing it back to Wen Kexing in all-red with that killer eyeliner… my god, he’s so hot! But what really hits is how much he’s changed since then—you barely recognize that version of him anymore. It feels like a lifetime ago, which just shows how far he’s come. And when we see him sleeping in red again, the symbolism cuts deep—the color remains, but it’s no longer the sharp, blood-like crimson. Instead, it’s softer, muted, reflecting a man no longer consumed by vengeance, but reshaped by love, grief, and change. Omg… you’re out here single-handedly ruining swords for me, hahaha! I’ll never be able to watch someone wipe a blade the same way again. And Zhou Zi Shu all ‘prettied up’ in his old Window of Heaven robes for Prince Jin…Totally gave off that ‘presenting the bride to the prince’ vibe—I can’t unsee it! And oh man, Prince Jin busting out the old wine felt like such a callback to their pact 10 years ago—it’s almost ritualistic, the way wine is used in Chinese tradition to seal brotherhood, loyalty, or promises. But instead of rekindling anything, Zi Shu’s like, “Nope. Remember those 79 brothers who died for you? Yeah, not doing that again.” Then pouring the wine—it feels like a quiet tribute to everyone he lost over the past ten years. And Prince Jin claiming he destroyed Four Seasons Manor because Zhou Zi Shu couldn’t decide, so he decided for him… just… wow. It really shows how twisted his mind is—he doesn’t care about anyone Zhou Zi Shu values and would happily burn down what he loves just for his own gain. Prince Jin’s arrogance is on full display—he can’t imagine being wrong, so he dumps all the blame on Zhou Zi Shu. It really makes him a terrifying kind of leader. And when Zi Shu pulled his sword on Prince Jin? Love it! The whole scene just screams how much he’s changed since the start of the show. Back then, he was resigned to death, almost indifferent to the world. But now? He’s full of fire, full of grief, caring too much. And that’s what drives him to literally risk everything to shove Prince Jin into reality. Zhou Zi Shu basically forcing Prince Jin to either keep him alive or die with him. I couldn’t agree more with how that was such a ‘Wen Kexing’s mom’ energy moment, haha! And that scene with him kneeling under the spears… seriously, why is this show so insanely good at cinematic moments? And the Poison Bodhisattva pulling the “let’s lure them out with a barbecue” move at the Gentle Wind Sword Sect? Hilarious. Honestly, that would’ve worked on me tho… And then Mo Huai Yang just runs into the garden party like, “WTF is going on?!” But omg—the look on Zhao Jing’s face when he sees the Scorpion King… damn, if looks could kill… And yes, I know I just admitted thinking, “wow, the Scorpion King is so beautiful” right after Zhao Jing smacks him. Haaah… I’ve officially fallen too far. Also, while on the subject of voices, can we talk about the Scorpion King’s voice in this scene? That calm, quiet tone is just so pleasant and almost ethereal. And in the middle of all that, poor Zi Shu is getting tortured by Duan Peng Ju. I actually love how stubborn Zi Shu is here. Like, he knows his death would mean Prince Jin dies too, and he’s fully at peace with that bargain. It’s almost like a code of ethics—the detachment from his own safety, the refusal to cling to life if it means enabling evil.
