The mangaka makes us really sweat for them, don’t they? Chihaya and Taichi definitely have their work cut out for them, which makes me want to root for them even more! It’s interesting because we don’t get to see Arata’s struggles as much, so I guess we’ll see where that goes! I would in the moment be soooo contesting right back against Yumi! I would be sassy with her, but I get that Chihaya was taken aback and didn’t know how to react or stand up against her. I hope we get to see her eventually play Shinobu so we can see how Yumi and her match would go! And yesss, I would love if Kana wanted, to become a reader! Gosh, you took the words right out of my mouth, that this mangaka is cruel in how hard it makes it for the MCs. Seriously, I don't think I had ever watched a sports anime were the main character/s had so many roadblocks to advance. Sure, they would lose once, but generally after that they rally again and go on winning. Not here! Chihaya and Taichi both have a steep road ahead of them and have to really learn before they are able to advance, it seems. Gosh, the former queen's way of contesting every card seems like something that would annoy me to no end xD And in Japanese culture, it's designed to make the other person uncomfortable and not want to continue arguing, it's brilliant, and ruthless. Kana going into becoming a reader for Karuta seems like a cool little plan! I think she would enjoy it a lot.
