Episode 28 was such a bag of things! All of what you mentioned included! đ Han Ying absolutely had zero chill this week â it IS interesting to finally get Prince Jin back in things! ZZS out here not realizing âeverybody wants himâ to the tune of Billy Squire! The costumes that ZZS and WKX have for new yearâs are GORGEOUS! So beautiful and I love them celebrating New Yearâs together so happilyâŠwell, at least until Han Ying barges in half-dead. I do like the growth we have with WKX deciding to swallow his pride and jealousy and help his soulmateâs friend! ChengLing vs. the chicken was so hilarious! I love the levity and humor we gotâŠwellâŠare getting, before things go down! Zhao Jingâs actor plays âdrunkâ so well! And YES, his villainy is so ârealâ in this! And yes, they went all out with the cinematic moments with them this week! And then yes, what a wild ride with that scene of ZJ and the memorial tablets! And SK being like, âYouâre messier than I expected!â AHAHAHA So true! Thank you so much for the comment and the kind words! I cannot WAIT to see where this heads to!

So⊠Episode 28 really gave us a little bit of everything. Weâve got political scheming, martial world betrayals, chicken chaos, and some surprisingly warm holiday vibes. First off, Han Ying has absolutely zero chill. He just stumbles into Prince Jinâs place half-dead, casually delivering an Oscar-worthy âYep, totally ambushed by the Scorpionâ performance like itâs no big deal. It was really interesting to see Prince Jin back after such a long time as well. Zhao Jing is such a good drunk. Honestly, actors who play the âbad guyâ never get enough creditâpeople just hate the character and forget thatâs exactly the point. If you can make me feel genuine hatred, annoyance, and disgust toward a fictional person, youâre doing your job really well. And Zhao Jing is terrifying in that subtle, slippery wayâswitching effortlessly between his sinister mastermind side and his âWho, me? Iâm just a humble leader looking out for my people, blah blah blahâŠâ act. Itâs unsettling how good he is at being both. I loved that shot of him standing there with the firecrackers going off, smoke curling around, people walking past carrying chests⊠and then that look on his face. Justâdamn. Such a striking, cinematic moment. And Prince Jin and Han Ying both acting like theyâve got Zhou Zi Shu posters on their walls⊠This man cannot catch a break. Is every guy in this show secretly after him or what? xD (Better protect your man Wen Kexing!) Meanwhile, over at Four Seasons Manor, Wen Kexing, Zhou Zishu, and Cheng Ling are just living their best festive lifeâdecorating, cooking, and all that good stuff. I loved when Wen Kexing gets all worked up, yelling at Zhou Zi Shu for doing nothing but sipping wine while heâs left to do all the cooking. Zhou Zi Shu just sits there looking all innocent and confused like, âWho, me?ââtotally knowing heâs got Wen Kexing wrapped around his finger. And then thereâs Cheng Ling vs. the chicken⊠hands down the highlight of the episode. The kid picks up a knife like, âAlright, I got this,â and the chicken just looks at him like, âBuddy, youâre hilarious,â then bolts like itâs trying out for the Olympics. Then the chicken decides, âWait, this dudeâs dangerous,â and chases after Cheng Ling. Pure comedy â chickenâs got better moves than Cheng Ling, no contest! The moment Zhao Jing walked in the room with the memorial tablets, I was like, âOh snap, itâs this episode!â and just braced myself for your reaction. Such a wild scene! You really see how desperate he is to prove heâs winning, like heâs obsessively measuring himself against his "friends"âtrying to show heâs more capable and above them, but it feels mostly just like feelings of inferiority even after their death. Meanwhile, the Scorpion Kingâs face was pure âWow, youâre even messier than I expected.â And seriously, the symbolism in this show is top-notchâthe doors shutting between them while the Scorpion King realizes the âpriced possessionâ fetish Zhao Jing has⊠damn⊠Back at Four Seasons Manor⊠honestly, if I hadnât heard about the low budget, I wouldnât have guessed itâthose costumes look amazing! The cloaks, the colour combosâtheyâre absolutely gorgeous. And Cheng Ling? Still the most precious little bean ever. Just as the cozy vibes settle in, Han Ying crashes in looking like he got run over by a wagonâbleeding, exhausted, and casually dropping bombshells: a piece of Glazed Armor, Zi Shuâs identity blown to the Window of Heaven, and oh yeah, he wiped out the Window of Heaven assassins and framed the Scorpion. Cue Zi Shu sprinting off to save him, while Wen Kexing stays behind, swallowing his jealousy like, âFine, weâre saving your friend,â and stepping upâbecause apparently love means patching up the ârivalâ (not that there really is one) instead of stabbing them.
