I will always love how Kurisu pulled Okabe from his dark spiral in this episode! It was so well done; agreed! And yesssss, I’ve talked about in multiple danmei I’ve watched because they use ‘hand intimacy’ to get around censorship quite often! The first reason makes sense with Kurisu’s request, but I like that with the fork and spoon and with her being nerdy secretly like we’ve seen in the past! I get what you mean by the moon reference! Romantic, indeed. And the shout out to Chihayafuru! 😀 The reveal that Amane is John Titor is so good! Finally getting confirmation that she’s a time traveler was great!! And I love that callback to episode 7 - thank you for the comment and kind words and for pointing that out alongside the info!

This episode was where the heights of despair were reached and I didnt know how much more I could watch of Okabe spiralling into depression and then Kurisu our Celeb17 our Assistant and mad scientist for the ages came in and pulled our boy from the darkness. That scene was soft and intimate and that hand holding scene encapsulated their relationship so well slowly reaching and hesitating and reaching and hesitating until they finally decide to clasp hands and not hide anything anymore. This is why there is a common joke in the anime community among romance anime watchers in general that hand holding scenes need to be censored because Japan's hand holding scenes are more intimate than kissing at this point. There are two fun theories Ive seen online as to what the Kurisu fork and spoon request are about the first reason is that it's simple as her just wanting personal silverware in the lab because she's always complaining about her stuff getting taken by Okarin or the lack of supplies in the lab but then why would she blush at that maybe her asking that feels embarrassing is my only guess and the second reason is someone on Reddit said it might be related to a meme of the spoon being a friend and the fork being a lover I think I like this reason more it makes alot more sense to me because she spends a lot of time on social media or 4chan and this was her indirectly saying to Okarin you're already my friend but I want us to be more but he probably didnt get the reference. It reminds me of how in Japanese there is an indirect way to confess to someone by saying Tsuki ga kirei desu ne which means The moon is beautiful isnt it and if the person said yes it is that's an acceptance of the love confession. Japanese as a language is so poetic and romantic. Shoutout to Chihayafuru. Finally the reveal that John Titor is Amane Suzuha. I suggest you go back to episode 7 where Suzuha/Titor says oh you know why dont you talk to John Titor and in that conversation with Okarin she mentions the 1% Divergence meter there too. It's funny because after that conversation she asks did you speak to John Titor and Okarin was like yeah but he might not be accurate and Suzuha gets all defensive and offended saying which part isnt correct and for me that was the hint that spoke the loudest looking back on that moment Im like wow it was right there huh I mean we had all sorts of theories and I think in one of your videos you did suspect that Suzuha was catfishing Okarin and she was John Titor but getting confirmation feels so satisfying.
