Tier Rewards Question
🕑 Added 2018-07-04 19:47:03 +0000 UTC Hey guys,I've been having some thoughts about the direction of this Patreon for the last couple months, namely about the Commission Tiers. To be honest, I'm kind of tired of these tiers. Every month I have to do 8 drawings just for Patreon when I take the Exclusive into consideration, and it's a huge timesink for very little return at this point. I want to draw more elaborate stuff more often and to be able to pick what I'm drawing, but trying to churn out lineart and colored pieces for only $10 and $30 respectively is eating all of my drawing time. This page is explicitly why I can't catch up on the Final Fantasy manga or draw any comics in general. Ultimately, I'm not really charging anything for my art for the time invested. I'm not saying you guys aren't paying anything; your money is valuable and hard-earned too. I mean that $5 for a 60-90 minute piece of lineart isn't really worth it for me when it's taking away my time to practice drawing and make better content.
Personally, I'd rather add another Exclusive related to a "Poll Tier" (it wouldn't be more than $10/month) for those of you that'd like to pledge more than $5 and offer some creative control over what characters I pick for specifically that Exclusive. I love making the Exclusives for you guys; they feel like my best work (tell me if you don't think so though).
Regardless, I'm killing the Commission Tiers after this month, but I want to give everyone a chance to give feedback on where to go from here. Leave comments too!

Patreon are truthfully all over the place price wise, same as artists are with their price to quality ratio. Ive met some that charge very little and give loads by comparison and yet ive met some that charge loads and give little for the same rate. as someone who does not particularly care for high res pieces, photoshop files and the like, il admit I clearly have a biased opinion against patreons upon which this is a critical focus of their tiers.

Well, that's why I'm asking about this. Suggestions are appreciated. What do you see as a good value for $10/month? Sketches are obviously a dumb incentive for only $5 extra; fair rates for content like that are like 10 times higher with nothing else. Other Patreons like Pokkuti offer less than my $5 tier for their $10.

The strain this requirement is putting on you is evident enough that Im sympathetic about it. However might I ask do you plan to make more exclusives to make up for the loss in monthly commissions? otherwise I find the tier lacking being essentially doubled cost wise when I compare to the quality and rate of other patreons. I also would appreciate you working far more on the FF manga than commissions given ive sunk far more money into that. Either way its evident that something needs to be lessened to give you more time and effort to devote to pursuits you will enjoy. :)
