Great reaction. Your discussion on happiness being a byproduct really reminded me of Brave New World (which coincidentally also explores that "what if there was a drug..." scenario to some extent). Never would have thought a JJK episode could be thematically connected to that novel but here we are I guess lol

I really like yuji asking what’s Hakari what his function is. It’s kinda asking what’s the point of your blazing passion without a function to strive towards, yuji saying his function and no passion in itself offers a hand out to team up. If can have a function but it won’t matter if you don’t have the passion to achieve it and passion without a function is aimless, so with their team up, hakari supplies the passion and yuji the function, when you truly have both everything seems possible

Kashimo Has finally arrived. while I don't read the manga I have seen some panels of him and he seems like pretty cool guy. small nitpick that doesn't really matter in the long run but I wish they did his introduction like in the manga with our view being of him from inside the hollow stomach of the guy he just killed it was a really cool shot

Oh yea the Culling games did start in November 1st one day after Shibuya that’s why they’re in a rush because Tsumiki (Megumi’s sister) has 9 days to declare her participation in the culling games. The anime didn’t mention it but it is currently November 11th 1am. So they have around a week to add rules so that people could escape the culling games because if there’s no change in points or if they didn’t declare participation in 19 days since the start of the culling games they’ll die

I like that Yuji didn't have a perfect rationale from the beginning. He's always had placeholder reasons and improves them as he learns from experience

As much sad as it is this elevated Yuji’s character by a lot. Ever since Shibuya he finally registered the reality of his world and has come to terms with it. Glad he broke away from the overly self-important characters that shounen MCs tend to be. not saying I dislike hotheaded or active characters but I really value a sensible approach to behavior and mentality, a breath of fresh air
